Mentality thing that.. one team with the best and the other not being able to combat it.. we would have been exactly the same as would have been lots of other sides.. truth is Sweden are a poor side who play well to their strengths.

 

I know what you're saying, but with a man advantage and not a lot of time left...just get your foot on the ball and try to keep it for a while. They were just getting rid of it and hitting nobody in their team. Asking for pressure to be put on them.

Particularly when Germany had two defenders on the pitch, with one being Kimmich who plays like a winger. If they had a bit more composure about them they could have got all 3 points or at least held on for the point.

Great for the tournament that the Germans are still involved and even sweeter that the English pundits are spewing.

 

Yeah Sweden just didn't have the belief or bravery to try and get the winner or to at least keep the ball and play the game out. They seemed content to just sit back, get the draw and assumed because Germany had 10 men they'd stop being as big of a threat. Meanwhile the German mentality didn't change even with the sending off, it's almost like they just ignored that it happened and kept going for the winner. The mental aspect of the game is so important in situations like that, Germany have been here so many times before.

 

Loved this World Cup so far, been some fantastic games and it’s only going to get better.

 

Sweden were already knackered before Germany went to 10..

 

Anyone know what happens if Sweden win 1-0 against Mexico? As that would then leave Sweden and Mexico both on the same Points,GD and goals scored?

 

Goes on Fair Play I'm sure. It's how Spain are currently ahead of Portugal.

If Sweden beat Mexico 1-0 and Germany don't win then Sweden would win the group as h2h comes in before fair play.

We were talking about the head to head if Sweden & Germany were to win their last games.. but it wouldn't come into play as they would have all beaten one another..
