    I think a big problem is that there doesn't seem to be a clear indication as to who really has the discretion in terms of decision.

    Does the ref have to signal he want to review X decision, are VAR waiting on a call from ref, are VAR waiting on arms up on air from the team claiming, are the VAR team in the position to overturn the ref - there's no transparency.

    The ref clearly thought it was a dive so surely someone has to help him or just outright tell him..

    The whole going out of play thing is is pish as well. What if Iceland go straight up and score. Does it count or do they chalk that off and give an Argentina pen in normal circumstances..

    It's farcical in my opinion. Seen signs of this in Germany and in English cup competition for example..

    You are spot on there mate.

    No one seems to want to take the responsibility in making a decision to use the technology.

    When they introduced VAR it should have been made clear who makes the decisions rather than leaving it until the moment/s in the match itself. At the moment it just isn’t getting used or it is been used but the wrong decisions are still been made.

    I am all for VAR. I am fed up hearing the same * on the post match analysis after every game complaining about wrong decisions. That’s what VAR was supposedly brought in for in the first place to help the refs.

    When the pressure is applied to a lump of coal it either crumbles under the pressure or you get a diamond as the result.
