You’ve got to say that most VAR decisions have been correct..

However, a good few have been very debatable and what’s annoying me is the ref on the pitch is going with the opinion of the ref in the ‘VAR suite’ looking at the exact same footage.. the ref on the park needs to be much stronger.

 

good question......probably because the VAR boys were too busy and just getting to the money shots in pornhub and passed the buck to the ref!!

I've been enjoying this VAR so far.

Let's face it, it's the closest thing as fans that we will get to see.

Nae chance the SFA would make any attempts to bring it in, and not for monetary reasons.

There's been refs that don't even check VAR..

The same ref didn't check for a second stonewall penalty against Iceland and did another game where he did it again..

Yet these refs will look at VAR or go from above when a ball hits the hand or a tiny bit of 'contact' on a screen and it's a penalty..

Seen some absolutely shocking challenges going unpunished and no even checked..

The Spain game tonight. 2 or 3 real bad challenges. Pique handballed it just outside of the box and nothing was said. Putting flags up for goals that are onside that take 5 minute's to sort and then adding 3 minute's injury time on a designated 4..

There's been untold big mistakes from this..

Mark this down. I guarantee it'll cost a big gun in the knockouts because of this incompetence..

Knew the ref in the Portugal game was given the penalty when I saw him watching the replay on the wee telly. It was slowed down about 10x to show the contact with the arm, watching it happen in slow motion makes it look much worse than the 0.5 secs in which it actually took place.

It was * refereeing but also a * VAR team for even flagging it in the first place. They need some guidelines as to what makes a controversial decision, i.e. for a handball the ball must travel more than 1ft and the player needs at least 1 foot planted on the ground or something.

Otherwise football is going to end up like boxing where the outcomes of games are being decided by panels who appear to watching a different match.
