We have a dodgy defense, don't praise us yet. Although Olić, what a * iron man. He should be in a Duracell commercial. At 34, he still has the energy to influence games. Luckily, Perišić will be his successor.:50:

Only seen the first half hour of the game last night, and it was a pretty decent watch. Glad to see Croatia win to set up a decider against Mexico, hopefully they can progress. I've been very impressed by Perisic from what I've seen, he looks a class act.

Perisic has been the player of the tournament so far imo. Very impressed with him.

11 vs 11, Croatia was not that impressive against Cameroon, yet one can't underestimate such quality midfield.

It will be an exciting match for neutrals, that's for sure... for us Mexican fans, and I guess Croats too, we will be very nervous the whole match. Herrera for sure will play for the win, that's simply his style.

"Puto" in this case means more like "*" or "coward", not realy homophobic, but it's obviously an insult (being such a Catholic country one can think we are against homosexuality, in fact we're a pretty gay friendly country).

I think FARE has nothing better to do and want some attention, but if FIFA will punish us for those chants, I hope they also rethink their stance about Russia & Qatar... truly homophobic nations.

To echo Mr. P it can also have the connotation of a male prostitute, which can then have the connotation of being a homosexual. It can mean anything from * to *, usually it doesn't have the anti-homosexual connotation from my experience.

Apart from that, there are two things from FIFA which irk me.

    1) So they're going to punish Mexico for its supporters chanting a sometimes-denigrating word, but they'll give the World Cup to two countries which have actively codified anti-gay legislation? * off.

    2) This has been going on for years. If this really was a homophobic thing and FIFA really wanted to do something about it then they would have done something before. It's not exactly been a secret.

So really FIFA can go * itself.

Brazil looking like it will be...

    Júlio César
Dani Alves - Thiago Silva - David Luiz - Marcelo
    Paulinho - Luiz Gustavo
    Hulk - Oscar - Neymar
    Fred

I'd start Jô before Fred today because he has had such limited movement (even by his standards) but Scolari is keeping the faith. Neymar will be out on the left instead of the middle, that way Fred's lack of movement will become less of a big deal. Going back to his normal roll of holding the ball for Neymar to cut in on and pick up. He couldn't do that when Neyamr came through the middle. Jô can do that too but he moves a lot more.

I'd also start Hernanes before Paulinho today. Luiz Gustavo has been one of Brazil's best players so far, even without a proper partner as Paulinho has been so bad. Luiz Gustavo has been great at come back when Brazil have the ball to stop the counter attacks. Yet there were times in the Mexico game were Brazil couldn't string a few passes together. Paulinho played a big part in that failure. So I'd have Hernanes there to give the team more fluidity.

Really taken to Mexico since the tournament started. They've played with great spirit, their manager is a good character and their fans have been the best in the tournament imo. Hope they go through.

I thought Croatia-Mexico would be on ITV1 cs there's more at stake but it's been papped to ITV4. It's a farce that ITV1 has the England game tomorrow when Uruguay v Italy, which is a winner takes all, is on ITV4. Especially cs i don't get ITV4 on my freeview in my area!

If I was Brazil id rest players in this game. As it doesnt really matter if they win the group, there is no chance of Cameroon beating them. Id play

    Cesar
    Maicon D.Luiz Dante Marcelo
    Fernandinho Hernanes
    Willian Neymar Bernard
    Jo

Means Silva, Alves, Gustavo, Hulk and Oscar all get rested. Fernandinho and Hernanes get the chance to try and displace Paulinho and Jo gets the chance to do the same to Fred.
