SPFL is our bread and butter though.

We should be looking to offload players not delivering domestically before looking to offload our better players.

There is a reason the likes of Ambrose and Stokes start a lot of games. they are our best players in those positions. We should be looking to challenge them by bringing in players who are better and letting them duke it out. Getting rid of them is just revisiting old ground every year, not progressing.

For those who are in love.....
This is the thing, stokes can't play the lone role and we can't play 2 up front so it's gonna be a case of probably him missing out for the team in europe next year along with another 2 or so others and a new guy or someone most likely that can play the target/lone man filling in especially for europe..

For the point about robertson on this page,I would like him in as he's exciting, young and scottish and looks like he could go all the way but my problem is this..
He's not going to shifty izzy anytime soon so would be stunting his development on the bench and I wouldn't want to buy and loan back to dundee united simply because we need cover at left back throughout the season and would then aswell as buying and loaning the lad we'd then still have to get another in..
And I can't see us buying 2 left backs in one season as we've been crying out for left back competition for years now..

My main target is gauld,I know we need strengthening up front still but this kid I've managed to see a fair bit of and he looks the package..
When was the last time we had a kid this talented come through the ranks that was this clever, had this good a touch and close ball control, vision, the ability to glide past 2 and 3 players in tight spots, score goals and take set pieces? All at an incredibly young age he's burst on the scene..
We have missed out on talented kids for different reasons in fletcher and mcarthy and watched them sell for 12 plus million each when mcarthy coulda been ours for a mill..
I don't want an even better prospect possibly and one that I think could walk into our team and make an impact, slip away..

Forster out for semi decent money, think anywhere around the 6 mil mark would be reasonable for a keeper who plies his trade in the SPL. Pukki out, I feel bad for saying it because I want him to succeed but can't see it and am starting to think cutting our losses might be best. I'd be happy to move Efe on provided Van Dijk stays and some money was spent replacing him. I'd punt Stokes if anyone wanted to take him, I just really don't rate him. Move Kayal on as well, think his time here is up, again feel bad saying it cos he seems to enjoy it here but he's only gonna be back up and the squad needs freshening up and players like Henderson can take his place on the bench. Sammy is already out the door as far as I'm concerned.

I'd bring back Marshall, Hooper and maybe even Barry Robson. Then spend a bit of money on a centre back that's more 'traditional' but noone is springing to mind just now.

I think bids will come in for Ambrose, Forster, Van Dijk. If we get bids for Boerrigter or Pukki, i think we'd look at getting our money back. Bids come in for players you would want to keep.

Players i'd like to move on would be Kayal, McGeough and Boerrigter. That would free up some space in midfield and we could look to get a good right and left midfielder.

I think Lenny is trying to flog watt in today's evening times "I don't plan to sell him, but if any bids come in we will have a look at them" told ye he was finished at parkhead!

Also Darnell fisher is out for rest of season and is out of contract come summer too as is atajic, think that could be another two out the door aswell add mcgeough to list too perhaps?

Some places reported atajic and fisher had signed new deals but doesn't seem to be the case, strange their breakthrough season and their deals are running down?

Reckon Rogić might leave in the Summer if he doesn't see himself breaking into the side any time soon.

That's what you took from that? :56::56:

He explicitly states that he doesn't plan to sell him. He says he will look at bids if they come in. How the * does that mean he's finished at Parkhead? :56::56:

I'd take Barry Robson back. Out of contract after all and wages wouldn't be a problem. I reckon it would give our hopes of a treble next season a boost, domestically he's immense, as he showed for us before and more recently with Aberdeen. I think he'd come as well. Gives him a last chance at winning as many medals as he can, although obviously Aberdeen and others would have something to say about that.

People can't be serious about signing Barry Robson, and some of the other SPL dross, can they?!

I know I can maybe be criticised for wanting too much and having expectations that some people may find unrealistic, but I would much rather have that ambition than to merely accept mediocrity for a club like Celtic. It will lead to stagnation at best and regression at worst, we should be looking to improve.

I do think Barry Robson did a job for Celtic when he was at the club before, but he's not the answer to take the team forward now.

He's certainly not the answer to take the team forward in terms of Europe, no. But in terms of our domestic season he'd be a good signing imo. Knows the game inside out, always gives 100%, good tackler in the middle of the park. Don't see why folk would have a problem with a player like this being in the side. Especially when he would cost fuckall and take fuckall in wages. After the Aberdeen cup game I bet everyone was wishing we had Robson in our ranks that day. He bossed the midfield. I think with him in the team next season, it would do our chances of winning the League and Scottish Cups a real lift.
