I'd agree with this. I reckon if Nadal had made this years final he would have won today. He always seems to have the beating of Federer. But if Djokovic and Nadal had made it, I'd have fancied Djokovic. It's strange (for me anyway) seeing Djokovic having the same effect on Nadal as Nadal himself has on Federer. Thinking about it, I would've loved a Federer v Nadal final today. The 2008 Final was the best match of all time imo.

I'm not convinced Murray will ever win a grand slam, there are better players in his age group, still a great player and may well win one but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Can't stand Federer, the whole 'he's the nicest guy you could ever meet' pish doesn't wash with me. I find him really smarmy and I don't believe he is gracious in defeat either, give me Nadal every day of the week over him in terms of who's genuinely gracious in defeat.

    Tennis genius right enough.

4th best tennis player in the world competing against 3 of the best ever and all he gets is pelters. It's ridiculous.

The gap between Murray and the other 3 isn't as big as some would have you believe.

Murray at his best can hang with those 3 no problem at all, has done in the past and will do so again.

I think it is. He can play well against them and beat them in Masters etc. But generally in GS the other 3 have the ability to go up another level. I don't know if that's because they're mentally stronger though. If he was as close as you say he would have won 1 by now imo.

You've just strengthened my point, the gap in talent and skills isn't that great. The 1 thing he lacked was the mental aspect which is clearly and visibly improving.

He would have won Wimbledon but for a genius at his best on the other end of the court.

gutted for andy not winning it!

switched it on late and he was a set up, and 2-0 up in games i think ( maybe 1-0 )

was genuinly shocked and thought "holy *, he's actually going to win this"

could see federer gradually get better, murray needed that 2nd set really bad, but after he was losing his serve games there wasnt really any way back. it was horrible to see him lose those games. genuinly think if he got that 2nd set then he would of won!

cant fault murray too much, think everyone knows, and could clearly see federer somehow just made that extra step up that murray cant yet. i beleive he'l win at least one grand slam. he's progressing well. i dont expect to see him in every final now though, but after that match, i think he's a bit closer to djokovic, nadal and federer
