Well done Roger, the better man won. Murray is a nearly man and always will be, a slightly better Scottish version of Tim Henman. :50:

He's 10x better than Henman, if Murray was around in Henmans heyday he'd be winning slams regularly.

    Have to agree.

I’ve never been a big fan of Murray, but there is no way he is only slightly better than Henman.

Slightly better in the context of better results in Grand Slams but not winning when it matters.

Henman was world no 5 for a long time and Murray has been no4 for a long time hence why I say slightly better

Murray is much better than Henman. He's been in 4 Slam Finals compared to Tims 0 and has won 8 Master 1000s compared to Henman's 1. Murray was ranked world number 2 once as well. Murray's also been in the Semi final of every Slam which Tim never managed either.

Gutted for Andy today. Few crucial points could have made the difference but just didn't take them. In the end Federer just looked a class act and completely in control. Only consolation for Andy is he did much better than previous Slam finals. Lendl is doing a good job with him. Hopefully he'll get that Slam some day.

I dont remember that point, but a similar one.He was 6-5 down but 30-15 up on his own serve in the second. He missed a relatively easy shot at the net to go 40-15 up and almost into the tiebreaker.Obviously he may still have lost, but that turned the game Federers way for me.

He done himself proud and probably couldnt have played any better, but he lost to the greatest player in the history of the game, who proved he is still supreme on any given day by beating the "invincible" No1 Djokovic in the semi.....which ultimately shows what Andy was up against.Well done Andy.:50:

Đoković said that he would rather win Olympic Gold than Wimbledon this year. I am sure he wanted both, but I believe him because he has already won Wimbledon.

    I agree.

Totally agree. he is the best ever, but he doesn't know how to stand defeat.

Right, Tim Henman turend pro in 1993 retired in 2007. During this time he reached Wimbledon semi final 4 times, French semi final once and US semi final once. He only ever got to the 4th round at the Australian Open. During his career he won 11 trophies with only 1 Masters 1000 and 1 Masters 500 the rest were wins in 'lesser' tournaments. Henman's highest ranking was 4.

Andy Murray on the other hand turned pro in 2004. Has reached 4 grand slam finals and the semi finals of all 4 grand slams. He has won 22 trophies. 8 of which were Masters 1000. Andy Murray's highest ranking was 2.

And Murray has played in a much harder era of tennis. If Murray had play in Henman's time I am certain he would have won a major.

Hate that * head Federer. Horrible, horrible man.

He played well today to be fair and wasn't even the serving machine he normally is. I was wishing it was Nadal instead of our Andy at 1-1.

Yep, hopefully Murray regroups and can be a real threat at Flushing Meadows.

I was speaking to my brother there. Is he right on saying that in the draw you don't know being like Andy, a 4th seed, you could face 1st or 2nd in the semi?

In the last few tournaments Andy's faced the 2nd being 4th!
