It defies belief how much some people on here want us to be associated with "Rangers".

We are nothing like them and should not be linked via the "old firm" tag.

    * yer old firm.

    Predictable, boring, inane.

Not every Celtic fan has the same childish mentality.

How packed do you think Parkhead against Ross County will be after we've won the title for the 15th consecutive season.

We've just sold two of our best players to Norwich and Southampton. That says all you need to know about where we are as a club right now and, more importantly, where the SPL is.

If you want a serious debate I'm willing to participate.

On the contrary, if you wish to pursue a childish approach to this subject please refrain from trying to engage me in conversation as I have no wish to have further dialogue with somebody unable to discuss things in an * manner.

There is a poll on this forum in which 478 people have voted against 'Rainjurs' being in the premier league, only 65 for - a fair amount of whom will no doubt be deluded peepul like yourself.Get it into your head that they are not missed, realise that after reestablishing ourselves in the Champion's League (with our CL 'flukes') and with the positive changes happening in Scottish football and new tv deals to go with that Dodo FC are not missed and certainly not needed.

This is a forum which has a 2100+ page thread full of people who have actually spent time photoshopping silly images and some people have even owned up to the fact that they contacted the advertising standards agency about an advert placed in various media by Rangers. That's a big indication as to why such a result should be obtained by the poll.

Yes, a lot of people want to do that sort of thing but, in my experience, they are young (under the age of 25) or have a serious obsession with Rangers, bordering on the point of hating them more than they love Celtic.

We are not going to have a rival emerge from Edinburgh or Aberdeen that can generate the type of competition we and Scotland needs. There is only one team with a large enough fanbase who has any chance.

There is only one thing worse than a 2 horse race and that is a 1 horse race. TV will start to dry up if we don't get competition soon and grounds across the country, already witnessing crowds verging on their lowest average gates ever, will become even less attended. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that.

Can you imagine any of the Quality Street Gang being sold to Norwich or Southampton because they are fed up being able to put 50% effort in and still walking the league? Me neither.

    Here.

I will just point out a couple of things.

Scottish football has been on the decline for at least 6/7 years.

Crowds at Parkhead have been on the decline.

Not because Rangers have died, but because Scottish football and the authorities are making it into a laughing stock.

Look at the past few seasons and at the state of most of the ppitches in or around and just after January/February...Embarrassing.

Celtic Football Club does not need Rangers.

Celtic Football Club and every other cluub in Scotland need the SFA to get it correct from grassroot and upwards.

The Glasgow Rangers(when they existed) had a hidden bigotry which was obviously approved from whoever was at the highest of the monkey tree within Ibrox.

Not much is or was ever made of that by the SFA.

The SFA have done themselves no favours in the past to show they do not/did not ever take sides in the whole Celtic/Rangers debacle, but they clearly did.

The SFA are rotten to the core, just like the Rangers were.

So my friend you are wrong.

Celtic do not need Rangers back.

Celtic and the rest of Sottish football need the SFA to step up to the mark and start from the basics.

    :50:

Edit...forgot to comment on the Hooper and Wanyama

Wanyama was always going to use us as a stepping stone.

Hooper got too big for his boots and made a ridiculous move.

The sooner Celtic find a way out this this shitpit of a League and Association of the SFA the better for all us Celtic fans.

Thank you for your, mostly, * reply.

First things first. I'm not a Rangers fan (did you not see that my grasp of English is not bad?) and please don't accuse me of being one ever again simply on the basis of having a different opinion to you.

Celtic Football Club, as a business, does not need Rangers. Because of the romantic notions and myths based around the club they are guaranteed to sell enough shirts and Celtic TV packages across the globe regardless of whether or not Rangers ever play in the SPL again and whether or not they can compete with us as well. Without Rangers we are also guaranteed Champions League football and the fruits that come with qualification. We are rich, guaranteed to remain rich because of the excellent marketing we developed after our own financial woes in the 90s. So, no, we don't need Rangers to be a successful business.

But I'm not interested in balance sheets. I love football and I have a romantic idea of what football should be like. It should be competitive and it should be played in front of vast crowds. Football thrives on competition, it needs it. Crowds have been falling in Scotland over the last 5-6 years (mainly because money is incredibly tight rather than any serious mis-management of the game by the SFA beyond their failure to control ticket prices) but they are falling faster now than ever before and they won't stop. Why? Because who wants to watch a product devoid of any competition where the best players of the best club would rather play for mid-table or relegation potentials in England?

We all know the history of bigotry and compliance between Rangers and the SFA/SFL. But an SFA/SFL free of bigotry and transparent in its dealings would be a wonderful thing and I believe it can happen if people, both Celtic and Rangers, can forget the past and forge a new future. A competitive Rangers operating within a suspicion free governing body and below the law is the most desirable outcome. You say we need to get out of this league and 10 years ago I would have agreed but it is not going to happen if it's just us and, regardless, is unlikely to happen anyway. No-one wants us and the big problem is that because of the unique goldfish bowl football in Glasgow is, we've allowed ourselves to fall in love with the idea of an internationally renowned Celtic rather than the reality of us being a respected if rather quaint club. We are, as I said in my first ever post, formerly a big fish in a small pond but are now a whale in a bath.

The business doesn't need Rangers but Scottish football needs, more urgently than anything else, a competitive League and that can only happen if we leave or Rangers re-join the elite. I know which is most likely.

What a lot of *, especially the last part.

Most important matches in our history? I can think of one or a dozen matches more important than any against the dead club.

Oh dear, another "He's actually thinking differently from me so he must be Rangers"

If you haven't got the time, or decency, to read through my previous posts to understand how I arrived at my believes, regardless of whether you agree with me or not, then please refrain in future from responding to my posts.

    Boring, banal, predictable and inane.

Why don't you go and make some silly photoshopped pictures on Microsoft Paint for the other juveniles on here? That's about the limit of your intellect.

Why don't you go and have another read of your thesaurus?

You can't photoshop pictures on Microsoft Paint.
