Why is Sammy a scapegoat?

Dont think he's suited in role he plays, Would rather a Mccourt or even a McGinn down that side.

 

Samaras is a striking version of Momo Sylla, amazing skill but even he doesnt know what he is gonna do next

 

I wouldn't say that he is a scapegoat, but watching today's game made me think back over the entirity of his Celtic career, and indeed, what little of his Man City days that I did see. It also made me recall something that Skippy was allegedly hounded for, when he apparently mouthed that he couldn't play with Sammy.

My question is this - Who can?

When he is on goal-scoring form, he is unpredictable. When he isn't he is simply woeful. But regardless of his personal form when has he ever been part of a partnership? In the 2 years that he has been at Celtic he has been partnered with Skippy, JVOH, Fortune & Keane, and has been UNABLE to form an effective partnership with a single one of them.

Maybe he is best suited to being used when we need to play one up front and the rest of the time played off the bench. Or maybe we should just cut our losses, because he is more often a liability than he is an asset.

 

He is fuckung fool. Again, he had a tap in scenario. What does he do? Side foot, hits the defender and then post. He should have * put his boot through the ball.

 

can't defend him hitting the post again.... sammy haters have at it. But recognize that not a single attacker had a good game.

 

Don't get me wrong, I believe he is a lot better than Fortune who does nothing, but he is a wasted player, poorly coached. He needs proper coaching, which he has not received. He was never a complete player.

Constantly defending him when he clearly knows how to * up royally. No more excuses for him. He needs to start playing like he knows, he has had periods when he was consistently good.

But then again - that's him, Mr. Inconsistent. He blows hot and cold all the time. In one game you can see changes in his game going from top moves to silly wee mistakes. In one game.

I like Samaras, he gives an effort when that mob on the pitch doesn't give a *, he tries. But that is all useless when he's having a bad day. Has some major flaws in his play, like going forward without even looking anything other than opposition's goal. He can sometimes do well and instead of passing, he decides to go all alone which turns out to be fatal in 99% of situations.

He brings positive attitude to the team and his constant effort can't be overlooked. But his overall play is too inconsistent and I get a feeling that he's been rank more than good. Therefore needs to find consistent run of games. At the end of he day, it's all affected by his confidence and that's been shaky ever since he signed for us. Don't know about City and Heerenveen, but since he's at Parkhead, he's been like that.

 

I have never liked sammy even when he scores he looks bad.

 

should never wear the top again imo.2nd half knocked off the ball lying looking for sympathy fans going beserk at him today cant blame them get rid asap and at least 7 players in that team today can go too imo.

All this comes down to is if we want Samaras here next season and only the new coach should make that call.

 

Still the one player with the most potential but not a winger Lenny. Shame he's got to play that fud Fortune upfront with his wage and all.

I've defended him in the past but if there is going to be a clear out then his name wouldn't be far off the list of players to go.

 

Not sure why Sammy always gets it in the neck. Not the best player but dont get this idea that he doesn't try. I actually think his attitude is better than most at Celtic Park. Also think, apart from his miss, he was our best player in the second half today.
