Only time will tell if this is the case but he has certainly done enough to be given the chance to prove himself and develop to the next level

    ^^^ That's what I'm hopeful for.

At the moment, I'd like to see another built for Europe striker in there, and Leigh is currently the reserve to that.

He scores goals, but in Europe you need a bit more than that and to be honest I don't think he has that, hopefully currently doesn't have that to his game. Mind you he is only a wee guy and there ain't a lot of those going around that can bring in others etc.

What age is he anyway, 24/25? Plenty of time to improve facets of his game.

I certainly wouldn't be too disappointed at missed chances if he was scoring 30+ every year though.

If he scores goals though then you play to his strengths, not the other way around.

He needs to improve aspects of his game but for time being just keep feeding him the service he wants and he will keep scoring.

Either would I mate but I'd have that nagging feeling, he could have been even better.

    And he's 25.

Love the wee guy, his eagerness to do well for our club shines through every time he runs onto the pitch, hes now banging in goals for fun in a team thats a lot less talented than the team Hooper was a part of, injury free he'll get 35 no bother this season and the lad is still learning, he's only gonna get better IMO.

Hes a much better striker than people give him credit for.

I can see what you are saying and agree to an extent but id rather see Grif score 1 in Europe that could mean qualifying from our group in the final game than see him score aa hatrick against Dundee.

Grif scores lots of goals and theres no denying his talent but i would like to see him put the more crucial chances away more often.

Which it needs to be pointed out, he has largely done that this year.

He did score against Malmo at home though. Seems to pain you to give him credit.

He has 12 goals this year. A quarter of them have been scored in Europe.

His attitude now is fantastic, Yeah he misses chances but he's still consistently scoring as well. He also scores goals from everywhere in and around the box, drifts wide to offer support and tracks back. I struggle to see what's not to like.

His haircut could be better to be fair. We're trying to build the sexiest team in Europe and Leigh stands out like, well, a sore thumb.

If he was from italy, england, france, sweden or even ireland he would be the * bees knees on here.

But then there is the song,he will never be forgiven for that no matter what he does in the hoops.

I always find that argument bizarre :smiley-laughing002:

Always get people who argue just because he's Scottish he's favoured by the support etc etc as well.
