As mental as the opening post is, it has some reason.

What's to stop every SPL club going into liquidation and re-applying if these * can get away with it?

I hope the SPL chairman will protect the integrity of the sport and see sense.

If SKY pull the plug on coverage without the huns then what does that say about their integrity?

Why shouldn't we form a Newco? Because we don't want our actions in any way to be associated with what's going on across the river. Let's go about our own business in a way that shows far more dignity, professionalism and class than they could ever try to buy.

I think this is the real issue.

At the moment in the SPL you have clubs such as Celtic, Motherwell, St Johnstone, and Hibs (all to my knowledge) who have went out their way to balance their books in recent years. Sometimes this has led to poorer results than they otherwise would have got (particularly Hibs) but they did it all the same.

Then you have teams like Killie and Hearts who are currently running a dangerous high level of debt but have been trying to cut back spending over the last couple of seasons in order to get their finances to a managable level.

In all these cases there has to be a belief that this is worthwhile - that long term this attitude will be rewarded ahead of wreckless overspending. If newco go get to skip the que then it just confirms the absolute opposite and you really couldnt blame teams like Hearts and Killie from thinking why bother being sensible when we can just have a blow out, go busto, then start in an even better position to where we are now.

I think it would send out a message to the world. Obviously we would have no intention of creating a Celtic 2 but it would make the point loud and clear. 'The Rangers' are a new team with no more right to re-entry than any other new formed team. Might be enough to push those sitting on the fence in the right direction.

When Gretna reformed, they had to start again outwith league football. To this day, 'Gretna 2008' are a non-league senior side. Why should it be different with Rangers? Why should they even be guaranteed entry into the SFL, never mind the SPL? You can make a better case for them entering the SFL than the SPL, but we shouldn't assume that they'll just waltz into the 3rd Division if they're not allowed into the SPL.
