Mulgrew can't play as a defender. As a midfielder, maybe.

bit of an over reaction on mulgrew. the start of this season fair enough hes been poor but give him a bit of time. i agree lm would probly suit him better. In europe he may be found out a bit like the rest of our squad but he'll be great in spl

Can't see us getting Lee Wallace. Although I rate him. He hasn't always been the best defensively IIRC, must be something he worked on.

Hes one of those Caddis type players though. Hes not a great defender, but could he genuinely challenge for a place on the wings?

Mulgrew is certainly challenging Mo Camara for my dream team of duds to wear the hoops.

We were right to sell him in the first place, nowhere near good enough.

Game vs Arsenal, in my opinion using logic, defensively Mulgrew's role was to cut over and sweep across the back up for the central defenders when play comes up right they all move over, at which point Murphy left mid. was assigned to pick up wide left side wide player. Murphy never tracked back and you'll see how Mulgrew gets caught out on second goal and at other times with wide man being free. Check out the replay. If Mulgrew stays wide to check wide man, it creates a gap between him and centre for through balls to be exploited with late runs. Murphy is a striker and not a midfield player and was lazy the whole game.

why you making excuses for mulgrew?? he is terrible. always has been and always will be. scoring an odd free kick and putting an odd decent ball in the box dont make u a player. any of our left backs last season are head and shoulders above him. he wasnt good enough 1st time round, coudnt make the grade in the championship for wolves were he coudnt get a game, got loaned to southend and ask the aberdeen fans what they thought of him, they didnt like him either. how he has ended up back here on a 3yr deal astounds me !!! id have mo camara long before this dud !!!

I am prepared to give him every chance - I think he will be used in home games to whip in those free kicks, and I hope he sets up a barrelload of goals and even scores a few. I wish him every success and I will support him...but last week v Braga was the single worst performance I have ever seen from anyone in a Celtic jersey. Watch it again if you can and count the number of times he gave the ball straight to an opponent or just shanked it out of play altogether? Also if you do watch it again, check out the number of times he fails to keep the ball in play and mistimes tackles. It was a woeful performance, definitely the worst!

What's the odds on Braga targeting him tomorrow night! I bet it's a stick on, I know I would as he cant defend, has no pace, is positionally wrong and has no physical stature! Thing is he will now try too hard and whey hey, penalty kick as well!!

Yet again some of us are too quick to condemn players because they dont hit the ground running! He's not had a good start, and he probably wont be our 1st choice lb when the season starts, but lets at least give him a chance ffs. Some settle quicker than others and slaughtering him before hes barely kicked a ball certainly wont help him!!IMO he was one of the best lb's in scotland last year(not the hardest feat i know)But we picked him up for nothing(relatively risk free),and we also lost two 1st team lb's (naylor and brafheid) Whether hes good enough or not,the jurys still out, but in the meantime lets get behind the guy and hopefully he might become a decent player for us!

and what did you see of him last season? a couple of goals and assists ? he is terrible. always has been a very poor player and always will be. he will cost us a lot more goals than he will create. nothing to do wiyh giving him time. he shoudnt be here . simples !!
