Fortun'e has impressed me since he's arrived, as he fits into the classical CF who holds he ball up well and brings people into the game.
He runs the channels well in the hope that both our supposed talented wingers (Maloney and McGeady - even though Maloney is supposed to be a CF) to cut inside and cause a bit of damage.
This role puts a * of a lot of responsibilty on McDonald's shoulders as he is our main goal threat.
What we now have is options with Samaras as a direct replacement for both McDonald and Fortun'e and Killen to replace McDonald.
We are able to change formations to suit particular games, even though the CL qualifier negated our strengths in the first half by nullifying Arsenal's it changed once Fortun'e came on and we looked more of a threat.
He needs time to score goals and I don't think he would have had this amount of pressure on him in his whole career.
The comparisons with Sutton are a bit misguided, but BBJ is probably more accurate.
If he hasn't bagged a decent goal ratio by October, his all round play won't save him from abuse.
I myself believe that he will score a bucketload in partnership with McDonald, and if he scores against Rangers, he will be hailed as an astute buy - give the Bhoy a break eh??:50::50:

Honestly this is such a ridiculous thread. Let's explain this simply:

    1. Tony Mowbray is signed as new manager for Celtic.
    2. Tony Mowbray is given the trust of the Celtic Board to an allotted amount of money to purchase players - players that will help us win the league.
    3. Tony Mowbray purchases 4 players - 3 of which are first team regulars, and 2 of which have really shone thus far in the 4 competitive games we have played. Therefore, Tony Mowbray has done a good job of signing players.
    4. How Tony Mowbray decides to spend his money is something that I can not control. I also can not control how Tony Mowbray uses his players. Therefore, I will not partake in useless banter that solves nothing. In fact, I will actually get behind the player and cheer him on, as if he were to log on to this website and see this thread, I could completely understand why he would never play well in green and white again. I will do this because I am a Celtic fan, and want all players who have decided to pull on the Hoops to exceed, and know that * and moaning will either do nothing or make the players perform worse.

TalkCeltic is a place to have interesting, useful, and intellectual conversations - NOT to scream about players and make yourself look completely daft and foolish. I don't disagree with people sharing their opinions about players - positive or negative - but don't make yourself look like an uneducated * when you do it.

Is there something wrong with your question mark button or something?

He made 2 actualy. There was the header which he should have scored but come on man, he's only played a few games. If we were half way through the season i could see your point but you need to give players a chance to adapt.

Again Mowbray didn't buy him because he's a top goalscorer.

Your taking way too much sense and confusing many people here with stuff they dont understand like a basic grasp on tactics, giving player more than a few games to prove themselves, having a memory that stretches back to previous seasons and experiences of other players etc. All that stuff is wasted on many here. Just shout GIRFUY, insist we sign Robbie Keane and pick a player who must be sacked after each game like the rest of us. This weeks menu includes Fortune, Caldwell anbd Hinkel. No point fighting this tide of shortsightedness and stupidity. You will soon get to like to taste of windows:icon_mrgreen:.

What! Nobody told me Hinkel was on the menu ?
*... and to think I chose Caldwell when I could've slated Hinkel. That's what I get for deciding before all the options are shown.

Are we? I dont want goals from fortune, I dont want him near Celtic Park! We need players who can play against the best teams in europe and win, we have bags of heart and pride and we showed that on tue night but It wont always win the game, theres a balance between the two, it amazes me how people are saying he looks good, hes like an elephant on ice skates, he doesnt look to have any natural ability at all

He looks like that to you maybe. Why don't you give him some time to settle? He already knows how it is to play in Britain, he impressed at WBA. Besides, if Mogga wants him to play, he'll play. Nothing I can do, or you or anybody else.

    What a ridiculous thread!!
The guy has just moved to a new country with a new style of play. He doesnt know anybody and is still living in a hotel with his family in another country. He hasnt even played a handful of games and already he's getting this much abuse! Get off the guy's back and give him some time to settle
