Nah Negri was top scorer in 97/98 which wasn't the SPL so I didn't count it. I think he was our top goal scorer if that's what you meant.

Jinky probably would've been my 2nd choice but i'm only 17 so I never got to see him play, that's why I went for Lenny.

That's probably another reason I rate him so high. It's one in a million that a player can have such a serious injury and come back just as good if not better.

Exactly, and he stayed for 7 seasons, you won't ever find a player of his calibre stay at celtic for that long again... an absolute hero of a man....also his attitude was brilliant...no attitude problems, i'm honoured to have met the man, and to have seen the man play.

:shamrock: BOBBY MURDOCH :shamrock: THE GREATEST CELT EVER !!!

    Ask your faither...or in some cases...grandfaither ! :icon_mrgreen:

What a player, scored goals from midfield with either foot and was as hard as nails also!

40/50 yard passes was the norm for oor Murdy...total class !!!

    R.I.P Bobby,

:50: would have been better if we could have 2 votes, but... im 17, Larsson was my hero growing up.

Alot of us never ever seen Jinkyp play, he was obviously a world class player though...but i couldn't choose someone i haven't seen play over my hero.

That's why I picked Larsson over Jinky. I'm sure if I had seen him play I would've picked Jinky.

    I cant speak for Gunt..

But I do know that both Aberdeen and Dundee Utd were cracking sides

in the 80's and a victory away to either was a great result.

Lennon, once again because I'm only a baba and I'm sure if I was old enough to remember the golden years it would be either Jinky or Stein.

Impossible choice but if I'm dodging the usual suspects, I * loved John Hartson.

Apologies. I misread your post completely.

But the poster said that 'at least' 4 teams, apart from us, were competing with Europe's top teams during the 80's.

Excluding us, even though we had some great results, Aberdeen and DUTD, were doing well. Who else? The huns were terrible, as bad in the early 80's as we were in the late 80's.

Who else? Have I missed someone? He surely doesn't mean Raith Rovers beating Munich at HT? :icon_mrgreen:

lolol im sure he doesent include Raith Rovers

not sure who else he was meaning, but I think his point was

that there was a lot of good scottish talent around at that time.
