Who's better , the lions or current barca team?

Well the Lions didnt pay all the money for there team and they were all Scottish and lived a few miles from paradise so it has to be tyhe lions :icon_mrgreen:

 

Barca is the better team, no doubt the fitness levels would be in a different league altogether as with the new training techniques etc

 

thats mythical! if your fit ? your fit! its what you can do on the park. and im pretty sure the lions would more or less say the same.

No chance, players train more and more now than they use to...

* players used to smoke loads and have bevvies all the time back in those days..
there is no way the'd match them in that department. + the skill level of THIS barca team is undoubtedly doing something special.

There are more athletes in modern sport it's a well known fact, * didn't derek Johnstone use to be a star for rangers and he was a fat *.

Actually if we want to be scientific about it,because of the temperature and time travelling techniques and jet lag from travelling through time,the 67 carnation of the lions would be being beaten by 2 goals then the match would be abandonned due to crowd trouble.

 

exactly and if I'm not mistaken in 66 our scottish team with the same players never even got a sniff of the world cup and we all remember (after the auld enemy banging it down our throats) who won that :-(

 

Got to think if the same players were around now with the same training from a young age and the outstanding facilities now they would prob be twice the players they were

 

I hate these comparisons.

Times are different - if both played each other when they both peaked obviously the Barca side is better because this is 2010 and not 1967 and everyones bigger, stronger and generally fitter and better.

All this talk of Barca being the best team ever is premature though - the La Liga is virtually a 2 team race now and are so far behind the big 2 its hard too gage the real quality of this Barca side.

Theyve already dropped a few points in a relatively easy CL group so we'll see in the knockout stages what they do. The english teams have definetly dropped down a level qualtiy wise but could still stifle this Barca side IMO.

 

messi is currently the world sensation in terms of footie....but analyse the sports science he has to help him, the state of the art boots, and the anti sweat material on his shirt...and of course the multi million pound contract and the turf surface like a billiard table......then analyse how good jinky was without that assistance......jinky was and is the man by a coutry mile.

 

infact tbh, the only real contest here is your heart ruling your head.

 

Tough one it could go anyway if they played six matches 3 wins for the lions 67 team and 3 for the current barcarole team that's how tight

the lisbon lions won the european cup the first british team to ever do it and were all scottish but barcelona won the champions league and most of them are spanish so hard 1 to pick tbh

 

as much as i want to say the lions i have to go for barca.

imo opinion it depends what type of football you enjoy a suppose, barca play a more fluent quicker game

 

this barca team is probably the best team iv ever seen ! that game against real a few weeks ago was probably the best performance iv watched. its impossible to compare 2 teams 40 odd years apart as teams now are in a different league fitness wise.
