I cannot believe that there are guys on here saying we should go for Moyes, Hodgson etc....

There is absolutely no-chance, no-chance of any of these guys coming to Celtic. Life long Celtic fan, and BURNLEY manager Coyle knocked the job back, and ex Celtic captain, and NORWICH manager Lambert said he wouldnt take the job, so what makes you think these guys would quit high flying Premiership posts to play in a Vauxhall Confrence like league?

Some people need to get real, our last 2 managers, where Strachan, wo was out of a job, and a relative flop down South, and a manager who had just been relegated from the EPL and who was an ex Celtic player.

The days of attracting managers like MO'N are long gone!

Who REALISTICALLY would we bring in, that would be an improvment on Mogga (not hard, as he is one of the worst managers in living memory)

I would love guys like Moyes, Hodgson myself, but it aint going to happen, so realistic targets, i would say would be (and I am not saying I would be over excited about anyone here, just stating realistic targets):

    John Hughes
Mark Hughes (I would at least make an attempt for him, simply cause he is out of a job, but a long shot)

Other than that I cant really think, even guys like Billy Davis would probably knock the job back (I can hear "he's a wee HUN" shouts just now) but the Championship seems to be a better league to manage in than ours by far.

When it was announced that Strachan was leaving, I naturally assumed, and hoped, for Willie McStay to be given the post as noone else (bar the late Tommy Burns RIP) knows that club, in a managerial capacity, aswell as Willie McStay does.

Also, when you consider the wonders he done with the reserves, surely you'd have thought he'd atleast have been given a crack at the whip.

I've got to go for Willie McStay, he knows most of the Bhoys already.

Guardiola won everything in his 1st year as Barca 1st team coach, EVERYTHING!

No-one really expected him to get the job & no-one thought he would be such a success - but there you go.

Willie has won everywhere he's been, except Hungary - but has taken some also rans to 2nd in their league (I think). He's a * good coach.

I'd go for him & I think he'd prove to be a good choice - he'd surely jump at the chance. As for some of the others mentioned, no way they'd leave their jobs to come here....Moyes, Trappatonu, Hodgson etc..

Tony Pulis is another one I wouldnt mind seeing at Celtic park!

he would have a big physical side in place to battle with rangers.

Still wouldn't leave the epl to come to Scotland though, doing a great job at Stoke.

I honestly dont know! as long as its not Mark McGee, John Hughes, John Collins, I would even take Roy Keane now.. Imagine he was walking into the dressing room at full time last night... Some over payed * would have got there * handed to them after that performance!!!

Although he has just started the Scotland job, Levein is the man for the job in my eyes.

Don't think there is any amount of TNT that will shift any of the managers from the EPL to get them up here. Mark Hughes might be interested as he is out of work, but I doubt we could meet his wage demands compared to what he would've been used to at Man City, and I can't see too many of the likes of Trap, Hitzfeld etc being interested, as they are of an age where they are comfortable with international football, but can do without the day to day pressures of club management.

IMO, I still reckon it would be worth a phone call to see if we could pry Solbakken out of FCK Copenhagen.

I just hope the board dont go for this Celtic minded pish or ex Celtic player & go for someone who is successful & passionate about football no matter which team he manages. A concern I have is whoever comes in won't get a lot of money to spend as the board have already threw enough money at TM & it back fired. The only way the new manager will have any cash will be if he sells all the flops (that's a lot of players)

willie mcstay is sitting 4th in a worse league than ours with a team who are probably financially better off than most in the country. another mogga, the job would be to big for him. we need a manager who is hungry for success and hungry to prove themselves AGAIN! i highlight again as not a young manager but a manager who has been there done it and wanting to show hes not finished. i am not campaining for craig brown as a dont believe he is correct, but some1 of his nature. the turnaround he has had at motherwell has been fantastic, motherwell were laughed at when they appointed craig and archie, but the difference is they both know FOOTBALL! and i believe Mogga doesnt really understand it. seems to be a man with a philosophy of football without a real plan! any1 with half a brain knows we cant compete with the money of the EPL but some how and i dont no how we need to get this shambles sorted and fast. come next season rangers will be going to 3 in a row! and being really honest it kinda hurts to think about it!

Willie McStay is a shout. Maybe with Lennon and Alan Thompson as his backroom staff. They done there badges together and would be better than Venus and grant.

If we were to go for Roy keane which I think is most likely then we'd need to get a quality coach like McStay as his assistant.

i cant really think of to many options at the minute. things arent going to well at ipswich for Roy but would he come up to the SPL right now and could Celtic afford him. Hardly.

Maybe David O'Leary. Always rated him as a coach, i think he would do well.
