Bilic or Hughes. Think it will be Hughes, been out of football for far too long.

billic for me hands down think of the contacts he will have in eastern europe.niko kranjar spurs celtic had him on trail and wgs said he was over weight and lazy.class act player billic could bring a few of them over we will be laughing 2/3years from them then sell them on for a good profit everyone wins.

Someone mentioned Hitzfeld on here. Although he would be on good wages, he would have knowlege of players in the Swiss and German leagues. Anythime we've played Swiss teams in Europe or friendly games they've had some decent players and they probably wouldn't cost that much. Also the German coaches seem to spot good players from Eastern Europe and Poland. He probably wouldn't come to the SPL but we could at least ask him. A lot of the names in previous posts, I would welcome, Surely if Desmond can pay Robbie Keane the wages he's on, he can pay a good manager that instead.

You have a thing about buying a player and a year or two later selling them on for profit ,how are you meant to keep a settled team by doing this.

Alan Curbishley has to be worth a shout. Did amazing with Charlton, then was doing well with West Ham until they did the dirty on him. Sets his teams up well and they are hard to beat.

He's also taking over as Norway coach and has a dodgy heart, so that rules him out. Like the thinking behind his appointment tho...

Bilic would be my first choice as well...however...your quote about how 10 years ago we could get o neil etc....thats what the papers and pundits tell you but is it really that true? When O Neil took over he had reached 4 english cup finals with leicester, winning 2 of them and getting them further up the premiership table every season. He was coming to Celtic, who had hardly won anything in the past 10 years, hadnt made a dent in europe for * knows how long. Gus Hiddink was almost given the job until O Neil got it. So what would the potential Celtic manager be looking at now? A team that has been largely successful for the last 10 years, champions league last 16 twice, Uefa cup final. We look a far more attractive team to go to than 10 years ago. Sure there are down sides of being a celtic manager but its still a top job. The board showed NO AMBITION with their pathetic shortlist last season, not one of them was good enough to manage Celtic.

I know he's an out and out blue-nose....but I think Billy Davies is a cracking manager. He is enthusiastic and has an energy about him....If he were offered the job and took it....I wouldn't complain.

New manager

This isnt a thread like the others:

Why are people wanting all these ex celtic managers to be manager
on this forum alone, there has been
Di Canio
Lambert
Larsson
McStay
Keane
people they arent the a answer, we need someone who has won leagues, cup etc and is a manager who is known

I really cant decide who I would want as manager. Least a got a few months to think about it.

What I will say though is that I think we have to get away from this Celtic minded crap that’s banded around by some fans every time we need a new manager. Strachan took pelters just the for the simple fact he wasn’t Irish or had never been associated with the club.
