I actually saw odds on John Barnes to be the next manager :56: but being realistic, we need someone with a fair bit of experience. I would take Mark Hughes tho.

How could be not get guys like Bilic, Hitzfeld, Beenhakker, Houllier, Hughes, Laudrup????

I think we could get one of them. they have to be asked first.

Houllier is a good shout but he wouldnt come he could get the french job after the world cup if he wants it. Hughes has been rumoured to be the next Liverpool or West Ham manager. Laudrup is an intresting one

If Lennon does a good job it will be him as it's the cheapest option for our board.

I think Phil Brown would give Jimmy Calderwood a good run in the fake tan race don'tcha think?

(by the way I don't want either of the above two!)

I don't think I ever even considered Jose, Hiddink or MON

For the moment, we have to get behind Lennon, until his probable successor this summer.

I believe Solbakken from FCK Copenhagen would be a very interesting choice.

Has won management awards in Norway & Denmark, won 3 of the past 4 Danish leagues, Champions League experience (gave us a torrid time as I recall & have got some notable scalps, including Man U). Alot of the names being flung about would be used to huge wages & sizable transfer budgets, whereas he would be used to working in a market of a similiar size to Celtic & Scotland.

    Definately worth consideration, no?

Mark Hughes ain't the answer for me, loads of people wanting him but his win percentage in 10years from when he took charge of wales until getting the boot at Man City is worse than TM's was at Celtic alone.

David O'Leary would be good, not many shoutin about him, EPL,CL experience with Leeds only finished out of the top ten in the EPL once, in his last season with Villa.
    Free agent as well.

never heard of the guy, but if what you say is true about his awards and success along with the money side of things he sounds like a good shout.

i think this is the second time you have mentioned him.he looks a good shout because most of these people shouting hughes ,hodgson must get real.if we could get somebody like these 2 we would have had them last summer instead of tm.i think if lennon does well till end of the season he will be offerd the job.

My immediate desire is to have Mark Hughes and Neil Lennon in the dugout next year. No passion lacking there.

It's got to be Willie McStay

Actually joined the forum today to make this point.

This is Willie Mc Stay's time and destiny

    think about it

Lets see how many boxes he ticks

Celtic Man.......Played for the club for 8 years and comes from a famous Celtic Family.......No Issues there then.

Age.....48 years old.......A good age, plenty of time in front of him to build a great side.

Experience.......Sligo Rovers manager for 2 years, won treble. Then Celtic reserve coach for 5 years before becoming a CULT figure at Ujpest .

Loyalty....NO CHANCE of becoming succesful and jumping to the premiership in 3 years.....he'll stick around, he knows the expectations, understands the fans, and will be around as long as he is wanted.

I honestly believe that heis THE man for us.

Who needs and expensive manager with a big name for 3 years....

Not us, the fans will LOVE McStay.
