I would happily have Lennon back, purely to give a few of this current squad the kick up the * they need. With the Huns up next year, Lenny would be the best man to keep them in their place.

Alex Neil imo would be a gamble worth taking, Moyes would be steady but not as ambitious as some on here make out. Rodgers would be the best possible appointment for me. His Swansea team was made up of a lot of young players, and played some fantastic football. I thought he did okay at Liverpool except for signing a few duff players coming in towards the end of his time.

Love guy, but not sure he's the right man this time around. Hos results in the league after the huns folded were on a par with Deila's, although his football looked better.

Rodgers would be a better overall appointment than Moyes, but I think we're more likely to end up with the latter.

Rodgers would be my ideal choice.

Some of his football at Swansea and liverpool was superb. But he would only be a short term engagment, a couple of seasons and he would be angling for an epl job again.

Moyes looks likely. But his teams are hard to watch tbf.

Moyes would be my first choice candidate. I can't understand why anyone would be against Lennon coming back tbh, if he was able to replicate the success of his first time here I think everyone would be delighted. Yes, it's maybe less exciting than an entirely new name, but it also carries much less risk imo.

Very grateful to Lenny for what he did as a player and a manager, but I wouldn't have him back in the hot seat.

Davie Moyes could be a great appointment.

This is Celtic we are talking about. Can you see PL hiring 2 managers. I wonder would he even push the boat out enough to satisfy Moyes

I don't think DM is in any position to to negotiate for top-dollar. His stock has never been as low as it is now and he needs to re-build his previous reputation.

A club like Celtic is a great place to do just that!

I just don't want Neil Lennon to come back. It could work, but it's just not the right move for me.

Unless it's a toss up between him and Coyle.

Slightly different. The financial landscape of Scottish football changed after O'Neil.

Things appear to be largely the same now as they were when Lennon left, though the domestic game is arguably more competitive with both Hearts & Aberdeen being in better shape, plus with Rangers now in the top flight and on the up.

He's not the best candidate being talked about, but I still feel he's an improvement.

Yeah, it was. I thought we were better and more focused on the League campaign that year. I think if we'd managed to get a proper replacement for Hooper that Summer instead of Balde/Pukki, we'd have been in really good shape.

I do remember some enjoyable games that year. The game where we really dismantled Hearts at Tynecastle, in particular.

Lennon left because of downsizing, now he's basically spunking all over himself to come back?

    Whats changed?

He experienced what downsizing really means (at Bolton) and realises the grass isn't always greener.

I'm sure he also sees it as an opportunity to pick up a job at a huge club that is at a low ebb, despite being Champions elect and having the biggest budget and best squad in the country by quite some distance.

Any manager who comes in, qualifies for the Champions League and cuffs Rangers will almost be an instant hero.

The more I think about it the more I think Rodgers is the unrealistic target, Moyes would be an ambitious target, Lennon the safe option and someone like Paul Lambert or Michael O'Neil pretty much the unknown option.

Perhaps he plans to pressure the board into letting him manage the club without interference. He is probably cheaper than Moyes or Rodgers, and he knows Lawwell likes to save money. He'd probably ask for a decent budget though. Still cheaper than what Moyes or Rodgers would cost Lawwell.

We spend round about £8-10million a season anyway so it's not exactly anything new lol
