There's a few, may not be better than Moyes with experience get their teams playing good football and look promising, think Moyes is overrated being honest.
Ausburg manager Markus, Alex Neil, Middlesbrough manager Karanka just to name a few.

Alex Neil and Karanka - what have they done that makes them more appealing than David Moyes? Alex Neil got Norwich promoted, which was good but perhaps expected considering the team they had, and now they are majorly struggling to stay in the EPL. Karanka lost in the play-off final so he's done even less.

I don't now anything about the Augsburg manager but I see that they are 13th in their league, 4 points off relegation. Again, doesn't strike me as a genius.

David Moyes isn't spectacular but he was very consistent at Everton. He's certainly less of a risk than the three you mentioned.

Moyes is the steady manager we need he'll get us solid defensively which we badly need
Everton fans I work with are full of praise for Moyes and even though it didn't work out he's not been afraid to go and work abroad which has probably made him a better manager
If he's interested I would get him in asap he's a massive upgrade on Ronny

I'd say moyes. Somewhat of a steady hand, would most probably make us hard to beat in European football and would have us winning in Scotland without any fuss. No point in going for another project I think.

Play good football and high pressing certainly more interesting than Moyes style, end of the day it's down personal preference of what type of manager we want in. I understand why many see Moyes as a good choice but I just don't see it, he hasn't done anything of note in a while and certainly no indication he can take us forward in Europe.

Ausburg finished 4th last season doing very well with a young team and similar budget to us, got them into last 32 EL this season and gave Liverpool a good game. He's very much a great upcoming manager. Playing in EL has scuppered them in the league this season a fair bit.

I could be wrong on this but did Moyes not have a pretty poor record against the top 4 EPL teams when he was Everton manager?

One of the main reasons I would like him is I think he would be able to set us up well in Europe and grind out results against similar level/superior teams but if his record against top 4 teams is that bad, it would make you wonder.

Moyes is certainly the outstanding candidate. As much as I hate to admit it, Ronny's time is up for me. Europe hasn't been anywhere near good enough, and even then he isn't getting the most out of the players.

However, I'm confident the top 5 or so teams in Championship and a bunch of teams in EPL will realistically take Moyes and outprice us comfortably.

Not sure how many of us here follow Scandinavian leagues, Dutch, Central European, 2nd tiers of England/France/Germany etc, but you'd think someone from Celtic does and that there's a bargain up and coming manager out there wanting to make a name.

That sounds worse than what we are suffering now. Don't see the point in going for an up and coming manager(wasn't that Ronny?) we can't afford to risk take, albeit every signing is a risk but no point in increasing the risk. Slow and steady wins the race!

Moyes is just as much a risk.

failing at the biggest club in the world and a team in la liga hardly makes it a risk.

a would rather we spent a few quid on a decent manager even if it means we don't spend as much on players.that 1.5 million we spent on ciftci could a been spent on a manager.

I'm 90% sure that Ronny doesn't sign the players which I can't see Moyes accepting. Especially since he prides himself on being able to identify talent.

None of them are better managers than Moyes, mate.

All of them are arguably a bigger risk as well.

I have already listed what should be our "A" shortlist:

    Moyes
    Martin
    Rodgers
    WGS
    Lennon

Just get one of those. Sorted.

All of them are doing well, Moyes has been out a job for a bit and has failed quite badly last 2 jobs.
Just don't fancy Moyes at all don't think he'd be a good fit here.
