If you are trying to suggest the fickle nature of being employed as a football manager as a guide to who's better then at present Oneill is employed and Rodgers aint , we are going to have to get the players we have playing out of their skins especially in europe because and we dont have £300 million or a Luis Suarez on fire ,even with that the football Liverpool was playing wasn't up to much. Rodgers may well do alright here Christ ronny won two titles.I'm not bothered if we get him or not

My impression from DD's interviews today is that it's Rodgers.

Must be promised some financial backing also, am I tripping or did DD said Champions League contenders?

Of Dermot is coming out with interviews and the likes then its a big sign that Dermot is taking a big hand in this appointment.
He could easily have let lawwel take that interview.

Man only comes out when he has something important and positive to say, to me I hope its Rodgers he is easing us up for. But my mind keeps going back to keane and his love for him.

It could be that Keane was the guy he deemed best suited to the job at the time. Rodgers was flying high with Liverpool at the time and had just signed a new contract, so he wasn't even in the equation.

I don't think Desmond has some sort of crazed infatuation with Roy Keane.

    I hope you are right.
In fact you probably are, specially about the timing of it all and where Brendan was.

No doubt Dermot will have friends in high places and want to do guys like keane a turn, if good enough. Would think he has brushed shoulders with Brendan as well.

Honestly will be so excited of Rodgers is the man. Would actually go out and get Rodgers 7 on a celtic top just for the craic

Earlier, Celtic's biggest individual shareholder Dermot Desmond said the club had interviewed "in excess of six" candidates.

And the Irish businessman described the Northern Irishman as "a great manager".

"We're excited about the managers we've interviewed and we've discussed," Desmond said. "Hopefully in the next few days we will decide, and enter negotiations."

Celtic candidates 'all worthy of job' - Desmond
Asked whether Rodgers was one of those interviewed, Desmond replied: "I can't tell a lie.

"He's a great manager. He's proved it at Liverpool and I think he's a worthy candidate for Celtic - as all the other candidates are."

It'll be interesting to see who he brings in if appointed, as he claims that he was solely responsible for the sacking of Colin Pascoe, who he brought to Liverpool from Swansea.

I don't think MacKay has any chance, the fans won't accept him. It seems to be down to Moyes and Rodgers, and who would have predicted that? Its a great position to be in.
