    1. He mightn't want to come.
    2. Given his last two jobs are failures and the fact that most of this current squad aren't really suited to his style. I don't think qualification should be expected immediately under him.
    3. Aye because that's what we usually do, reinvest fully into the squad  In all honesty we won't spend much more on players than we do in the recent windows.

To go back to what's been said on the previous few pages, O'Neill isn't really 'available', is he?

He seems content with that job and as has been pointed out we(and Scottish football in general) are a world away from what he knew. It won't happen.

There's no use talking about his recent record with the Republic either because this is club football we are talking about. He'd need a very decent budget no doubt and a healthy wage to go with that.

I get the impression that if Deila goes a large percentage of our fans will go back into this 'We must hire a Sellick man' mentality. I fear for that.

An experienced foreign manager would not be the worst appointment. All I am looking for if Deila goes is someone with a bit more experience and knowledge of European competition. Or even a younger manager who has a decent track record in Europe(Yakin, as I suggested earlier).

Doesn't need to be Scottish or Irish.

And if I hear another "hipster", "falling asleep at the wheel", "Ryan jack lifting the trophy", "no one can disagree with my logic", "thought field", "* delia", "Norwegian Klopp", "10IAR is under serious threat" from you, I will do the same. Honestly mate, I come on here to see other people's perspectives and thoughts. I may not agree with all of them but I respect them. I don't really think it's necessary for anyone to come on and repeat, day after day and thread after thread, the exact same points. Your opinions are as valid as the next man's, no more and no less.

Saudi Arabia and Galatasaray. Yeah it's weird he never got another chance at another big club even though Barça were poor in his final year.

If we follow that algorithm it is best for our club in the long run. No amount of fancy talk bullshit can change the fact that in order to get better players you have to offer them contracts that they find acceptable. This takes cash and the CL is the way to get this cash.

Getting an experienced manager who will organize us properly like Moyes increase our chances of accessing this money.

Spending all of this money on better players will increase our chances of getting that money again the following year and repeating. It is the only show in town.

None of this bullshit about "Ajax models" and "bringing through youth players" and "style of play" and all that nonsense will make up for us losing this revenue. Why do something that risks the golden goose. It's not hard for us to build a side capable of qualifying for 4 out of every 5 CL campaigns. Just do things properly like the way I have laid out and we are home and dry.

I don't think Stubbs would be as bad as some people are making, he's clearly a very good manager and he has done incredibly well with Hibs. But I do think we need someone with more experience to sort this mess out as quickly as possible.

outwith oneil, strachan, lennon, moyes im going to be controversial here and say i think alex mcleish would be a great appointment.has tonnes of experiance, can work on a tight budget.won trophies in scotland as well as winning a league cup in england and gettin birmingham city promoted.think he would get the best out the scottish players gms, armstrong, allan, christie etc. i no he managed the huns but cant really remember hating him that much as a person apart from being a thorn in oneils side, done a decent job with scotland and done quite well in europe with the huns.dont know how viable this option would be as hes a former cream bun and dont how loyal he is too them.but weird stuff can happen in football mo johnston, kenny miller, alfie conn etc.a lot of people could not have imagined strachan here as a manager also.

Is leaving genk at the end of season as well.

I think he would be a solid appointment but some of our fans will not like his reputation (nothing to do with being a hun) he will be viewed as a footballing dinosaur (even though it's not true). Personally I would be against this because there is risk associated with this appointment as there is a high chance fans will take a disliking to him. Put it this way if he overseen the same 20 months as our current manager he would be gone long ago.

Wouldn't touch him with a bargepole, he's still got training wheels on. Big part of Hearts success is Craig Levein. Whatever you think of him as Scotland manager, he's a tough nut in the SPFL.

Yeah totally agree, he was great at getting a high tempo tough team at united that could beat most teams on their day. Really wanted him at parkhead before the Scotland job destroyed him, saying that he * himself wearing those sunglasses lol
