Ronny was own a lot less than some of out biggest earners that was another problem, im all for the manager being the highest earner at the club, and let them all no who is boss from the word go

I'd put good money on Moyes already being interviewed.

It's a hard decision to make between the two. I've struggled with it lately. :smiley-laughing002:

And we need to ditch this rolling contract pish. That kind of deal suggests to players that the manager's jacket is always on a shaky peg.

If Rodgers is interested, give him between 3 and 5 years and let him completely tear up the playing side as he sees fit.

Rodgers sacked Colin Pascoe at Liverpool so I'm not sure what sort of terms there on, I think Mackay will be his number 2

Sky News said that Moyes hasn't even been approached.

Surely this means he'll be given full control of transfers ? Can't see him taking on the job without it after the 'transfer committee' which arguably cost him his job at Liverpool.

Rodgers would be a seriously good appointment. Anyone that doesn't want him...who would you prefer out of the names being mentioned?! We haven't just approached him, this is the second round of talks so there is no way he wouldn't have asked the question about wages and transfer funds. The fact we are in more advanced talks is a clear sign to me that we are being taken seriously and we aren't * about with the usual low balling. If you told me after the cup game that Ronny would be replaced with Rodgers I would have bitten your hand off as would most of us. Can't help but be excited, just hope we can wrap this up quickly and get him in.

Wasn't Pascoe's son going out with Rodgers' daughter too? :smiley-laughing002:

Rodgers would be an appointment right out of the top drawer. I can't help but be extremely excited about this.

Rodgers was earning £5m pa at Liverpool. If he takes a drop of at least 50%, that would have to have guarantees/caveats on both sides, eg basic £30k pw plus another £20k for CL qualification.. If we pay that much on a Manager, either we'll have little to spend on players or be gambling on getting £25m from CL qualification to pay for Brendan's salary.

I've only ever read a figure of just over £3 million per year.

I'm buzzing since I've heard this news mate, honestly. I know we're nowhere near signed but I really think we'll get this done, as both side's seem keen..

All I can think with Moyes, is that he's put us off or along those lines, and wants to hold out for the Epl, whereas Swansea offering the manager a new deal has given us a green light to up the stakes and get this moving fast. We can only hope..

As most of us are saying.....this really would be an appointment out of the top drawer..

Be quality in the summer seeing where we go and what we move forward with:icon_mrgreen:

Rodgers would be a major appointment for us,really hope it happens.Would surely be given a decent transfer budget for 3 or 4 really good players.Really looking forward to next season, hopefully bigger home crowds, standing section, youngsters like Tierney and Aitchison breaking through, hopefully play more like we did against motherwell at the weekend.Future is looking a lot brighter right now.Or we can end up with Malky ha ha

Brendan Rodgers would be a marvelous appointment, I mean top drawer, top dollar.

As McGuire has already said this would be a real signal of intent by us.
