So no one should suggest anyone else because they're your preference? That's plenty. Loads of managers that would be good here, and the whole point of the thread is for people to make suggestions, not choose from og1s list.

I think moyes would be good but unrealistic, think Stubbs has to be the most likely for us. I would love us to push the boat out and get someone like Yakin or Biesla

People can suggest anyone they want. There is no topping that three man short list though.

    Martin O'Neill
    Neil Lennon
    David Moyes

How can that be topped like?

Rogers could get ahead of Moyes in that list. I think he's even less likely to though.

I would add Rogers to that list but as a category B pick. The three I have mentioned are A picks and I would be equally as pleased to land any of them. Moyes is available right now though.

    Who I suggested before Ronny:

Michael Skibbe - Greece (he is actually quite good though)
    Murat Yakin - clubless
    Besnik Hasi - Anderlecht
    Michel Preud'homme - Club Brugge
    Juande Ramos - clubless

    A man can dream. :56:

    * that *. All gambles, they might not get the club and think failure is acceptable. This would not be a problem with Moyes, MON, & Lenny.

Every single one of them is a winner. Every one of them has had success and handled big players. Play good football and demand respect.

Some are a bit in experienced mind.

Michael Skibbe - Greece (managed: Grasshoppers, Hertha, Galatasary, Levurkusun, Assistant to Germany and Dortmund and managed Dortmund youths)
Murat Yakin - clubless (managed Spartak, Basel - pricey but might MIGHT come)
Besnik Hasi - Anderlecht (Brugge, Genk)
Michel Preud'homme - Club Brugge ( Standard Liege, Genk)
Juande Ramos - clubless (Tottenham, Sevilla, Real, Malaga, Dnipro).

    Hardly risky.

They might not get the club though. They could underestimate the pressure involved. That's why my list has three guaranteed successful appointments though. No questions, no ambiguity, no doubts, no gambles, just guaranteed success. That is the optimal goal when appointing a new manager, so why not just do it?

Ever our fans need to get out of their own * sometimes.

"They might not understand the club", sorry but it's really not that difficult tbh. Even Deila fully understands it, he's just not performing as well as we OR HE would like right now.

To use the inbred logic of "give it to one of our own!!" with no CONSIDERATION for even an outside option, that is 100% Hun-esque behaviour in my book. So, so backwards.

Not really. I would have hired Alex Ferguson if I could have under the same principles. If you can hire a manager who actually loves the club as well then it's a good idea.

I was going to mention Åge Hareide but he's recently got the Denmark job.

Failure could absolutely be a problem for all 3. Moyes is just off the back of two consecutive colossal failures. Neil Lennon is failing horribly at Bolton (obvious due to their circumstances). O'Neill is hitting 70 and won't have a fraction the budget he did the first time around.

    Fresh blood is needed.

Martin O'Neill is a mad suggestion. He's ancient and can't work with pennies - certainly not today.

He doesn't know about the market outwith Britain, certainly not the market we operate in nowadays. We and the league are a world away from what he managed.

Naw if we appoint any of those three we are guaranteed success for their term and im not talking about grinding out a title in a one horse race with a domestic cup thrown in to the mix. I am talking about bending the rest of Scotland over and raping them and also bringing some European credibility back. One of those three is the safest appointment we can make. Lets just do it ta *.

The main reason for wanting 'one of our own' is the prospect they'll take a huge wage cut to manager a team of their dreams.

Mind you, Tierney's performances have reminded us just how much it means to fans when they pull that jersey on.

Aye because his budget with Ireland is class. If it wasnt for his transfer budget we never would have beat the world champions :smiley-laughing002:

One of results can happen. The rest were hardly class - and I say that as a Scotland supporter.

    He's ancient mate, past it.

Stick him here, with a limited wage budget a pish youth system, players getting signed for him and pennies to spend.

It wasnt a one off result though was it? The only team to beat us was WGS's Scotland at Parkhead, 1 defeat in the whole group. That was as tough a group as we could have got as well. We were fighting for automatic qualification right up to the last second.
