There's nobody other than the 'big' clubs paying more than £50k a week down there though, thats an exaggeration.

I dont know the prospects of earning big money in the EPL would be too hard to give up I think especially with how difficult the Celtic job is.

I'd bet Alex Neil wouldn't even take the Celtic job the now and he's also a Celtic fan probably more than Moyes or Rodgers and he's going to be in the Championship as he will be seeing $$$$$ of the EPL if he can get Norwich back up there and avoid relegation atleast once.

With the new money though managers wages down there are going to rise significantly. Like Bilic on £60k a week even though his reputation wasnt that high, now he's done well hecould probably negotiate a new contract on about £90/100k a week. Koeman if he's to stay at Southampton will be wanting the same. I think Allerdyce is on about £80k a week at Sunderland. Pocchettino said to now be on £110k a week.

Newcastle or Aston Villa would probably think nothing of offering Moyes/Rodgers £60k a week going up to £80/90/100k if they get promotion.

Just the same as players wages, they'll be looking and thinking if they can stay in the EPL they will be getting massive money the rest of their careers.

A step back to Celtic could end everything.

Why does it have to be a someone from England/Ireland celtic connection

did we fans put these guys up for the job, on the list of bookies favourites or is it a talking shop of idiot pundits with nothing else to talk about, you can bet these * hun pundits want us to take a gamble with david moyes "bottler" and roy keane "angry man quitter"

lawwell has spelled it out loads of times now we wont be speculating with expensive talent be it managers or players or any other possible employee

    we are cutting our cloth

in saying that i think they will push the boat out to get a fairly well known european manager who has possibly managed in england and isn't of the highest stock atm.

a german managers knowledge of football may suit us that is the most equivalent football on the continent to british football a decent manager that has done decent in germany and maybe not the highest of stock at the moment

Last three appointments have been Lawwells, MON and Strachan were Desmond's. Seems to suggest he appoints a manager of higher quality

The one advantage of maybe getting Moyes is that he has made millions already from the game, did he not get a £6m payoff at Man Utd, he was on good money at Everton for 11 years. At 52 years old he might just see it as the right time to manage the club he played for, remember if we did offer him somewhere in the region of 28k-35k a week that's not a bad wage, maybe a bonus for Champions League qualification as well.

Been reading all your posts today with interest. Thought it was just me who had this view of reality.

As someone who lives down South but who has been a Bhoy since 1960's, the sad reality is we don't carry the same weight we used to have 10/20 years ago. We can't even compete with salaries of Teams half way down Championship. Even teams in Div 1 (3rd tier) are still receiving £20m a year from their EPL Parachute payment - that's 40% of what we grossed, in total, in 2014-15.

Truth is if either Moyes, Rodgers or Martinez took the job, I would feel they were doing so because there was nothing else on offer. Paul Lambert's CV has gone downhill so we might be what he needs, but not convinced he wants it. Keane has shown he can spend without getting the desired results. Steve Clarke's succeses have come when he was a Coach (No2) and not Leader. Steve Evans.....Please! Lenny, backwards step. The MON's - one likes to spend to get success and the other has done very little at Club level and taken 5 years to do it with NI. The only one who NEEDS us and who has shown he can deliver is Malky Mackay. Such a risky appointment and not sure what his appointment would do to our respectability and reputation or whether he could handle the unquestionable flack he would get, but he has shown he can lead and get results.

Davie Moyes supports a Club that's been in existence for a few years?

I think it will be Lambert but the board would want to make it more exciting as the fans would be split on him so like Lambert with Larsson as assistant only Larsson probably wouldn't come until the end of the Swedish season which is in October or something so someone would have to fill in until then possibly someone like Joe Jordan?

As much as I'd love Moyes or Rodgers, I wouldn't be against a bit of imagination. Deila with a bit more experience.

I know he didn't work out but how impressive was Rangers getting Le Guen 10 years ago ? We can't be that bad a job that we can't attract someone special.

Would love to have Rodgers but reading the posts from iltc i dont think we will get him, or Moyes. Have a feeling it might be Malky. I know he made a * of himself but he seems to be doing everything to claw his way back into management. I also know a lot of people would be against him but if theres a lot of pro Malky spin in the papers the next few days i might just have a wee bet on him.
