We should refuse any manager that's performed as miserably with a good squad as Martinez had.

The guy goes into clubs that are doing well and within 2 seasons makes them worse. When has he went into a club in a sorry state and turned them around?

We need someone that can totally transform this clubs fortunes - get dross out the door and get quality in.

Martinez? Really? Based on what - because he made James McCarthy a £13m player by signing James McCarthy for £13m or because of his total lack of European experience?

Nice guy but I don't think he has the qualities we need.

I feel vindicated by Martinez's * poor managerial stint at Everton, I thought he'd be a failure and his small but mince record compares not a jot to Moyes. Moyes done very well at Everton, on a limited budget albeit with some boring football at times.

In saying that, Martinez would be a good manager for us. He'd get a decent team in Spain/Italy/Germany and maybe the EPL eventually.

Our situation isn't comparable to Everton, they play In one of the best leagues in the world, against competitive competition, we don't. We need a manager who is pragmatic and knows how to set up a team and work to our strengths - even if that is 11 men behind the ball against superior. European competition for 6-10matches in a season.

The rest of the season should be easy enough.

Does he not present the player awards and that at Celtic on the side?

Would love Moyes or Rodgers. Anybody who over looks his time before Man U is naive.

Not even close to being factually accurate.

Not sure what was wrong with dismissing Martinez based on his performance at Everton. Do you think they would be pleased if Ronny was being considered for their job?

to be fair gerry on SSB, is very good friends with commons and his wife,so there could be something in that.

as for martinez he talks a good game a bit like ronny, i really do not like him at all, in fact i really do not like them both.

I keep flipping between the two. Rodgers would no doubt have us playing better football but he strikes me at times as a rich man's Ronny Deila.

He went into Wigan at 11th and came 16th, 16th, 15th and then got them relegated.

He went into Everton at 6th, came 5th the next season and this season has come 12th.

How is it not close to being factually accurate?

In all honesty, that is a rubbish comparison to make. The highest level of football Ronny Deila has ever managed at is here in Scotland where he failed. Of course Everton fans wouldn't want him to manage their club.

Martinez on the other hand has managed in the EPL for years and has for the most part done well. He kept Wigan up for three seasons against the odds and also led them to their one and only major trophy win. He finished 5th in his first season at Everton and 11th the following season. They're 12th now. It's hardly a calamitous record.

His CV makes him worthy of consideration for the Celtic job.

I agree that he's had a poor season at Everton this year, but his record up until now is very good (Martinez). He almost got them into the top 4 and an FA Cup semi final this year. In my opinion we could do a * of a lot worse than him.
