I think we better get used to it.. Keane is nailed on I reckon.. Craig Gordon saying how good a manager Keane is in an interview...

CRAIG GORDON has tipped Roy Keane to be a success at Celtic - if he replaces Ronny Deila.

Republic of Ireland No2 Keane has been installed as the new bookmakers favourite to take over the Parkhead hotseat at the end of the season.

Irish betting firm BoyleSports even suspended betting on the former Manchester United skipper being appointed new boss.

Keane signed goalie Gordon for Sunderland in a £9million deal from Hearts.

And the keeper reckons his former boss has all the attributes to succeed at Celtic.

He said: "Why not? I don't want to single anybody out and talk about any one candidate.

"That's for once the games are finished with but certainly I've had him as a manager before.

"I know how he liked things to run at Sunderland and if he was appointed then I'm sure he would do well and would be successful.

"He's hard but fair. What you see is really what you get. With Roy Keane, he was an aggressive player who wanted to win every match and from what I've seen he's exactly the same as a manager."

Other high-profile candidates including Brendan Rodgers and Davie Moyes have been linked with the hotseat.

And Gordon admits he isn't surprised at the list of names interested in the position.

He added: "It's a big job for anybody. It's a big club, a massive club and it's no surprise there are big names getting talked about.

"There are a lot of good managers out there that would see Celtic as being a really good job and a good prospect to go on and do something pretty special, winning trophies and playing in European competitions.

"There's not that many clubs in Britain that are capable of doing that, so it's no surprise there is big names getting linked with the job."

We'll try and get Rodgers or Keane. If Dermot can't persuade either of them to take it we'll give Paul Lambert a phone. If Lambert sticks to his guns with regards to never managing Celtic then we'll offer it to Neil Lennon and he'll gladly take it.

Keane made Craig Gordon a multi millionaire- he's going to like him. Don't imagine too many other Sunderland or Ipswich players will speak so highly of Keane.

Would love to hear from the likes of Andy Reid, Stokes, Connolly, and other Irish players. Paulie talking like Paulie from the Sopranos - *.

Why all the love for Rogers too? Hes done * all as a manager and seems a bit strange... When he got the boot from Liverpool they were playing some awful turgid * football...

In a funny way I agree with you.....

I mean I don't want Keane, but I'd like to see some decent money spent. I can see him making larger budget demands than the board would be willing to allow and Dermot Desmond caving into these demands because he wants him so much...
