    Everything seems right for Moyes.

You've got way more faith in the Celtic board than most of us If you think there's no chance of Stubbs being our next manager. I'd say he would be right high up on their list.

Norwegian Champion or 2nd place in the Scottish 2nd tier, little bit different.

Deila is 4 years younger yet has 6 or 7 years more managerial experience and many more trophies as well.

Stubbs might end up proving to be a quality Manager but he doesn't have anywhere close to the pedigree of Deila at this point.

I severely doubt it. When O'Neill left we needed someone to oversee the removal of high earners and building a squad with a more Scottish influence so Strachan came in. When Strachan left we wanted someone to implement a better style of football so brought in Mowbray. When Mowbray left we wanted 'a Celtic man' with passion so got Lennon. When Lennon left we wanted someone to drive forward the development of players and implement modern ideas so got Deila.

If Deila is to go I'd imagine the most important thing on our list will be experience and a greater nous to navigate the qualifiers. If that's the case Stubbs won't even be on their list never mind be high up on it.

I reckon Moyes would be the man we would want, whether that's achievable or not is up for debate.

    I didn't say he did.

I said a year before Ronny signed for hs you would have said the same thing.

If Ronny gets the boot his name will be on the list, probably far down it, but considering how far down Ronny was on our last list it wouldn't surprise me if he got it.

Why was Roy Keane our first choice before we appointed Deila if that was the criteria btw?

So it's not quite as simple as you're making out.

We'll have a list, probably with Davie Moyes and co at the top, which you can strike off from the get go really. The further down the list we get the closer to Stubbsy we'll go.

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility he'd end up the manager.

Same reason a guy we had earmarked as an assistant manager is now in the hot seat.

If the major shareholder wants his pal in the job then he'll get it aye.

    Common sense.

I thought so too, which is why I was a surprised about how you said up there we went about getting our managerial targets.

Stubbs will be high up on that list make no mistake about it. The board will think he will have the fans backing due to his years as a player here. He's made a lot of progress with that Hibs side, getting to this cup final, has a sound knowledge of the game here after his years in & around the game up here which I think they will be looking for and most importantly of all he'll be easily affordable.

I don't, I think he'll become high up the list very quickly after Moyes/Rodgers/Keane/Monk and co say * off though.

You need to stop applying logic when it comes to the Celtic board & their thought processes.

I'd like to see Di Matteo or Seedorf, both without clubs, so would suit the board, but wages again!!!!!:31:

Seedorf hadn't done anything of note yet wouldn't want Di Matteo either probably the only champions league winning manger in history that most people wouldn't want :smiley-laughing002:

I had left out the vagaries of life as they're a given.

To go from Deila to Stubbs based on what we've seen from both would be a backward step, using any yard stick you want.

Won less, less experience, less pedigree, less everything.

But is doing quite well at Hibs while Ronny is struggling at us. It's not always about what they've done in the past.

One has the best team in the Country top of the top division the other has the 2nd beast team in their division 2nd in that League.

Both Clubs are in their natural position, why is Stubbs doing better? Because he drew with Hearts?

Stubbs would be on any potential list, I don't doubt that for a second. That question is just how near the top he would be.

The fact that the board went for Keane before Deila tells me that the youth development angle was more a consequence of us getting Deila than the reason we got Deila. Which again suggests a bit of a lack of planning/focus by the board.

A backwards step??? He has transformed that team, into a good footballing side and has made some very good signings. If they win their game in hand they are 5 points behind Rangers and nowhere near Rangers budgets. I would argue most of the hibs team would get a game for us. Stubbs is 100 times better than Deila, who is taking us backwords so fast it's unreal.,Stubbs would be a great appointment and would make us an exciting young football team. Still pushing on three fronts in the championship is remarkable to say the least

You would be arguing wrong then, Celtic are top of the Premiership and Hibs are second in Scotland's 2nd tier for a reason.
