In what world are way going to pay Keane the kind of wages he would be looking for to be our number 2. That also assumes that after refusing the managers job he will come back as number 2

Well, some really hefty figure might entice a great manager who also had nerves of steel. It's not the players business what the manager gets. I think it is obvious that the manager's pay is one area where Celtic can do something to attract a big name.

This is the way I see the merry go round going this summer, Everton to sack martinez who moves back to Spain to take over a mid table team. Mark Hughes joins Everton, David Moyes joins Stoke and Brendan Rodgers returns to Swansea after they part ways with Guidolin. We appoint Paul Lambert.

“Obviously the league isn’t so competitive but Celtic are one of the great iconic clubs in the world, a huge club. I think Ronny has done a great job there, it looks like they will go on and win the title so that is two titles in a row.

“So I’ll be sad to see him go but there is an opportunity for somebody there to go to a great club.”

When asked directly if he could be the man Rodgers, speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, said: “At this moment of time I’m just enjoying my time off and I’ll wait and see what offers come in and at this moment, there is nothing concrete.

“I’m just really enjoying the rest. I have had no concrete offers but certainly in the summer I want to get back to work again.

“I’ve had a great break, enjoyed it and I’ll be refreshed and ready for the summer.”

I would literally * myself if we appointed this guy

The more I think about it, I'm starting to favour Rodgers over Moyes...sort of.

Rodgers would be more likely to have us playing attractive, fast paced football. However, right now we just need stability and a kick up the * - which I think Moyes would maybe do better than Rodgers.

Either of them would be fantastic, obviously.

    * sake, I'd be worried if he thinks that Ronny's done a great job.

Yeah Rodgers is the dream appointment. Young, ambitious, plays great football and did well with both Swansea and Liverpool.

Much easier to just not mention him or use vague terms. Great jobs a bit worrying, considering Rodgers is one of these philosophical managers as well:smiley-laughing002:

That's the only thing against Rodgers, very set in his ways but definitely has more ability than Deila to implement them at Celtic if he did come.

Why not just go in for rodgers now....if he says no we know where we stand and move on to next candidate...all this * about man...season tickets to be sold.

Get the man in and tell him his summer budget then get working...

This saga will drag on like the transfers...linked with massive names and eventually too late and we get dog *

Moyes or Rodgers wouldn't come near us at all, career suicide for them if it didn't work out. They could probably even fail 1 more time each in the EPL and still get an EPL job after it.

Moyes will probably end up back at Everton on about £60k a week and Rodgers will end up at someone like Newcastle on about £60k a week.

Coming to Celtic they wouldn't get a 1/3rd of that wage and failing here would end their careers at EPL level and cost them £millions apeice.

If they did come here then it would be a bad sign as they'd look stupid as * risking their careers.

Only way they would come here is if they fail that badly in their next EPL job that they rule themselves out of managing in the EPL after that.
