There is almost no chance the SFA would let WGS manage Scotland and Celtic at the same time. They can't afford to lose support for the national team from fans who don't like us. Therefore we have even less chance of Michael O'Neil being in both jobs. Managing northern Ireland and Celtic at the same time is almost suicidal.

Exactly the job is still a good one in football terms ie European football and winning trophies, its the other * that puts managers off like the budget and attracting players when the EPL or even the Championship down south are offering funny money

Moyes was sounded our prior to Delia's appointment and turned us down. Money was a big issue and it's not like we have a better financial package now to offer someone like Moyes. Reality is just as it is with players managers like Moyes or Rodgers can easily get way more money elsewhere and just like our lack of ability to attract top level proven players we are in the same boat when it comes to managers.

Delia is still learning on the job but for me has done enough to merit being given more time to establish himself.

Most names suggested are probably what we need/should be aiming for. Redknapp, moyes, good shouts and for their experience are our level.

But which one of these guys is going to accept a pay of 300-500k a season?

Each of those two id hazard a guess would start demands around the 2million mark. And perhaps one of them is worth it. And both could get something great out of this current pool of players.

Moyes especially known during his Everton days of over exceeding on a small budget and building strong, hard to best squads.

The Manager should be paid more than our glorified accountant CEO and by that i mean a real manager who actually knows what he is doing

Said that earlier mate and folk were whinging at me.

Moyes/Rodgers etc. These guys were earning at least £40k a week. They had superior transfer budgets and I don't believe they would scale down for us - there isn't really much you can do to improve your reputation up here anymore - if anything all it can do is lower it.

Imagine being able to spend £10m+ on one player then coming to us.:56: No chance.

They'll be in a mid-table EPL side within the next year, paid £40k a week and have £20m+ per season transfer kitty's.

I'm not even sure who we can go for anymore. I do think scouring the European leagues is worth it but you have to be creative and adventurous to do that.

Dont think anyone is ready SPFL wise ie. Tommy Wright, John Hughes, Alan Stubbs. But those are the 3 thay spring to my head when I think of guys who one day could give us success in Scotland and abroad. Michael O'neill hasnt managed a big club team in his life so no, I'd say maybe Lennon or Strachan if they tail off their current positions. Moyes maybe as well?

With some of the names that are being bandied about I think we should just go the whole hog and get Mourinho. Tell him we are paying him * all, there's no cash for transfers, but if he gets this shower of * into the CL groups everyone will know he's the greatest manager that ever lived.

Wouldn't take him after the Porto debacle. We need a guy who knows Scottish football as well.
