    Downplaying his achievements, again.

Did he fluke the Norwegian Title and Cup with their equivalent of Hamilton Accies or is it just that he's a good Manager in a bad situation?

I'm sure we'll find out over the next 5 years.

you're kinda overplaying his achievements too, hamilton have never won a major trophy or the league, the team ronny managed won the league once and the cup 4 times before him. I also don't think their is the same disparity in wealth between clubs in norway but I may be wrong.

They had only been in the Tippeligaen for one year before Ronny took over. He then took them from being a relegation battle team to coming runners up in 2012, then Champions in 2013.

He done that while spending barely any money and bringing in players for free who were seen as not good enough by other Norwegian teams, like Stefan Johansen.

What he done in the Tippeligaen along with winning the Norwegian Cup in 2010 are pretty big achievements.

    He's still only 40.

Sometimes forget that, he does look a bit older. Probably the stress of having to deal with us *:56:

Wish him all the best, hope he can find the right club.

The Norwegian league is a pile of crap, its a joke league, proven by the fact a complete * like Ronny managed to win it.

Maybe the culture and that meant that Ronny fit in perfect there. The players coming form Norwegian backgrounds and way of life might be more receptive to his discipline, probably not the same ego in the players either so would not resist him the way it is rumoured some have here.

    - This doesn't explain his bonkers team selections and subs though.

It is a big decision to make and none of the candidates really fill me with confidence.

I see that Lenny said he's interested in a return. He is is not the saviour. He didn't do much than the bare minimum domestically as well (and even then the team let slip the title in his first full season, had a dreadful start to the second before finally turning it around and didn't really face a serious threat in his other two seasons), with some poor cup results. And apart from the brilliant run in 2012/2013 in the Champions League (which came in his third full season), his European record wasn't the best either.

Who ever it is we bring in we have to act now. If we leave it until the end of May or June we will be playing catch up. The new Manager who ever he is will want to look at the squad of players we have and sign some additions as well as get rid of a few. We will be rebuilding when the CL qualifiers come around and throw in the European games in France. If we are not careful we could be struggling at the start of the season. Aberdeen and Hearts have pretty much settled teams and will add just a couple of players. Sevco could be the same. Also naming the successor now would give the players a boost, they also don't know where there future is.

also take into account for all ronny done in norway he was only ever wanted at celtic to be a coach, or a no 2, it was only for the fact no one wanted the job he was given the chance to be the manager.

I would gauge that, overall, the Norwegian league is superior to the Scottish league.
