Can vaguely remember him having Bolton playing some decent stuff now actually. Regardless that was a while ago now.

I don't think he actually has a set style :smiley-laughing002: ....which I suppose could be seen as a positive in some ways.

Garcia is saying he will bring 'barca style' football which is so appealing but will that get us anywhere in Europe?

We need a manager like Moyes. Someone who plays with a set style but also knows who to grind a result when needed.

That hard man is a joke of a manager. Will cause major rifts not just in the team, but the boardroom.

Only got Sunderland promoted by spending millions more than the rest of the league. Not proven with a tight fiscal budget, where good managers prove themselves.

We cant do that? We do its the road to financial oblivion. Coyle works well in tight budgets and has shown at Bolton, he works well in the loan market.

Fortune was his main striker at Wigan?... If he gets the job and brings him with him, I will scream.

    No. Grant Holt.

I would like it if Fortune returned. He was a good player, with a fantastic work rate.

Folks are mad if they think hiring some ex Barcelona coach will see hundreds que up for season tickets.

    No manager will cause that.

Weiss done ok form them though. Add to that, that Miaychini.

Wilshire was moved specifically by Wenger to Bolton, to work with Coyle. As he know he would transform him. Best compliment you can ever give to Coyle from the likes of Wenger.

Take that over these patter of doom merchants that don't want him.

Don't think that whatsoever but I can see alot more of us being excited and optimistic about his arrival than Owen Coyle. He has also done well in his two positions away from Barca, won the league with Maccabi and was unlucky to come up against a very good Derby side with Brighton in the play-offs.

Not a fan or associated with Celtic either which is something I want, why go for a more household name in the UK? show a bit of vision for once.

Is this fundamental shift in playing style really needed.

Its all well playing barca style football, but if its not in the CL than it will still be a empty stadium. We don't need a radical change, just need to build on recent years success.

    Owen can do that. :50:

For the first time I can remember we seem to have an abundance of good quality candidates, it will be very interesting to see who the board go for. Regardless of which they will certainly get my 100% backing and have a good foundation left by Lennon to build upon.

As has been mentioned on here previously a good manager from europe has to fit the bill alot more than a jaded british journeyman thats tried and failed with teams of a lower stature than Celtic. I'd love to know what the boards priority is when looking at candidates and what they would bring to the club.

Garcia isnt actually my first choice mate I would just rather him than Coyle. Personally I'd continue to look elsewhere in europe, if the Salzburg manager Schmidt hadn't already left for Leverkusen he would have been my choice. The thing that worries me about Garcia is that he would be much like Barca in terms of having no plan B. I also think the 'tiki taka' style will be replaced soon in popularity by the style of play played by Dortmund for example. Even the counter attacking style of Napoli or Atletico. Most teams know how to cope with it now.

I think that now, when we have little to no compeition domestically we should look to maybe experiment with someone from abroad. Perhaps when our near neighbours were still in the league and sniffing about it would be more of a risk, and yes Coyle would be a more safe option. All I'm saying is push the boat out a bit and, well I'm gonna use this word again but, show some vision for the future.
