WGS temp, as that alloys the replacement process not to be rushed.

Larsson counted himself out of the running? Hope so.

Disappointed Moyes supposedly isn't interested. Also kinda surprised considering it's the chance to take over a big club, but is away from the scrutiny he'll get from the media after the United farce when managing in the Premier League; it'd be the chance to restore some pride.

To me he'd be the best appointment of the usual suspects. His brand of football was suspect at United but I felt he got a raw deal at times from guys trying to undermine him and I don't think his players played for him (whereas I think he'd be a pretty big name to the guys in our dressing room being vastly experienced and ex-United). Crucially though, he actually did really well in the CL with what in truth is an aging and inferior squad to most of the other traditional heavyweights in the competition. Few-if-any of the other guys on the list have CL on their CV.

As for Rosler, I know little about him but I actually wouldn't mind us looking a bit left-of-field. Every time a manager gets sacked at Celtic or leaves it's the same ex-players or known fans that are linked with the job. Sometimes the ones that would appeal to the hearts of the fans might not be the best managers available. As much as getting Larsson or Hartson or Lubo or whoever would put bums on seats, I'd argue a more experienced manager with an exciting brand of football and tactical nous may also do the same in the long-run and be a statement of intent.

Tony Watt as player manager. We'd be certain to get the treble with him.

    * that just get Finnbogason. We'd be blowing £6M but we'd kill two birds with one stone.

No Moyes, he'll play dire football and aged about 20 years in the past season. Ally McCoist doesn't look as rough as Moyes just now.

A nice 4-5-1 in the Europa League and relying on Forster to pull us through the penalty shoot outs. We will have a European trophy no bother.

I like Moyes and I think he'd potentially do well but it's the quality of football I'm thinking about. He'd have us committed to a basic 4-4-2 system where no player is allowed to roam out of position and certain players would probably be wasted as well. Just the same goes for Owen Coyle here.

The Scottish Premiership would be a walk in the park for him though, he consistently finished high up the table with Everton in a much more competitive league for many years.

European football would obviously be the main focus and I actually think Moyes is capable of managing a team in the CL. I would say that I think the Man United job was too big for him and he definitely wasn't ready, as hindsight has shown, but he is definitely capable of producing results in Europe.

Just wonder if Moyes is coming off the UTD job which was too big for him , can he possibly be big enough for Celtic .

Man United and Celtic may be similar in terms of size, fanbase, history etc, but there is currently a world of difference between them and ourselves in terms of the competitive nature surrounding both clubs in their respective leagues, not to mention finances.

It's a much tougher gig at United than it is at Celtic, put it that way. We still demand success up here of course, but United go into the CL most years looking to win the thing, whereas we just hope for a good showing in the group stages.

You could be right. I at least think he'd come in with a plan, say who is and who isn't good enough and try to sort the squad out a bit. Just not sure where all someone like Moyes' contacts lie? He wont be able to attract players playing in England to the club with such a tiny budget and I cant see him being willing to work in the kind of environment we are in. I wouldn't be devastated if it was him but he's not my first choice at the minute.

Hate to say but Man United are a much bigger club than Celtic. Moyes couldn't handle United but he would manage Celtic ok I think. The media attention surrounding United is far more intense than up here. And getting the United gig after Fergahun being in there for so long was a thankless task. Fergahun left that team in a total state considering the teams they were up against. No way guys like Cleverley, Wellbeck etc were up to the task.

    New Manager

It would be a disaster if we were to appoint Roy Keane - he is way too volatile for a managers position. If Moyes would take the job then its a no brainer!
