Celtic clearly picking the cheap option here, the guy is being chosen because he will be a lackey and sign etc as the board tells him, he'll win the league because anyone can.

Celtic need a manager who understands the importance of getting to the GS of the CL every season. This guy has done nothing in Europe.

I don't think he will go that far mate. There is already a decent group for him to work with but we are missing a few players in key areas. Hopefully if he signs then he can recognise what needs to be done.

This squad is entirely Lennon's and I just hope that whoever comes in can win them over quick enough. Johansen will certainly inform the other bhoys on what he is like to work with.

You questioned how much he knows about out game stating that this was your only concern with him.

I was hoping my question to you would make you see the irrelevance of your concern.

McNamara, Larsson, Coyle and Hartley are all better options than this guy.

But Imo we should go for Clarke.

What he means is there is no need to know our game, we should be playing a completely different style let the others worry they will either follow or fall

Also was Ancellotti not Milans manager when we beat them at Parkhead? I'm sure he knows about our game very well. :50:

Yes I do, it was a rhetorical question. Surely we want someone that knows how to play a European-style game? Knowing Scottish football means little in this regard.

So Ancellotti having a side play against us a couple of times means he knows about our game? How long would it take for Ronny to 'know about our game'?

Lifted from another forum. Not sure how reliable it is and I can't arsed, nor do i know how, to check it's validity.

If true then he is Pedro's wet dream. :smiley-laughing002:

And what has Clarke achieved in Europe?

As I said before, we may aswell go for this guy. Why go for the likes of Clarke and Mackay when they are just a boring, more expensive option?

But they all understand what it means to the club....plus Larsson and McNamara - Seville? Hartley - Last 16? Plenty of European know-how there.

I wonder if Pete picked up a last minute budget deal from Thompsons, youd think getting a new manager in place would be a tad more important

Clarke was Jose Mourinho's assistant at Chelsea - 3 CL semi-finals in there.

Surprised people aren't more enthusiastic about this guys appointment.

    Successful track record

    Reputation for developing young talent

    Reputation for playing attractive football

Known for having a hands on approach and being a student of the game

    Seems good to me
