Former Celtic midfielder Vidar Riseth has warned the current squad that they will face a tough regime if Ronny Deila is appointed their new manager.

Ex-Norway international Riseth spent six months playing under Deila at Stromsgodset towards the end of his playing career and knows just how tough the Hoops' new number one target is.

Riseth said: "Ronny was my coach for six months at Stromsgodset. At the time he was 33 and I was 38.

"But even though he was quite young at that point, he was really, really tough and wanted all the players to work hard on the training pitch and in matches.

"He's tough but fair and always has a good relationship with the players. If they are not playing, he will tell them why.

"But if they don't work the way he wants them to, he will sell them. It's as simple as that."

Delia led Stromsgodset to their first league title in 42 years last season and has now replaced ex-West Brom boss Steve Clarke as the man Celtic want to replace Neil Lennon.

Riseth says his former boss will have no problem making the switch from working in front of a small crowd at his current club to managing Celtic in front of a sold-out Parkhead.

He said: "At Stromsgodset, they play in front of less than 10,000 supporters for every game, but I have seen him take his side to Rosenborg where there are 20,000 shouting at him and it never phases him.

"He is really strong in the head and that will help him if he goes to Celtic.

"The Celtic fans won't know much about him but in Norway, he is a big, big name.

"He won the league in Norway with Stromsgodset last year with just 10 per cent of the budget that Rosenborg could spend.

"With the style of football he plays, he will soon make himself a hero to the Celtic supporters.

"If he can get the team to play the way he wants them, the club's potential will go sky high. He is the man to build the club's future."

    Absolutely correct.

If you look behind the fasade, you might find this a bit misleading.

Remember the norwegians who bought wimbledon and moved 'em to milton keynes? Well, those two f**kers also give Molde "unlimited funds".

So, what OGS has done in Norway is to prove that he can make a winning team out of $.

Now, with Cardiff in the PL, OGS inherited a sh*t squad from Mackay, who only had one job and that was to secure Cardiffs survival in the PL. But Mackay was not up to the task, signing Cornelius for a hilarious shady amount of money (which eventually got him fired after Than found out he had been "conned"). Medel was also signed for way more than he should, so basically Mackay was a drunken sailor with Than's money.

When OGS eventually took over he had only Marshall, Caulker, Mutch and maybe Noone being of PL-quality. So, the relegation was bound to happen when Than didn't open up his wallet more than allowing OGS to sign Norwegian "mehh"-players (exept Dæhlie).

    ____________

Now, over to Ronny Deila. He is the best, young and upcoming manager in Norway. His Strømsgodset may not have been running on food stamps and coupons like many articles like to give the impression of, but his budgets have always been small enough to make the results he has accomplished impressive.

The way he gets the most out of his players is the key to his and Strømsgodsets success. He seems to make player want to fight for him and for the team.

He's not afraid of making stars sit on the bench or even at the stands if they don't produce results, that also goes for youngsters, so that makes him a fair manager.

But my favourite thing about him, is that he never blames the ref, as the only manager in Norway.

Ronny Deila becomes the 6th different manager to be odds-on favourite for the Celtic manager's job, in under 2 weeks

It's alright. Pedro feed the bookies false info, let Ronnys odds drift and then chucked a load on Ronny. Transfer budget sorted
