Was about to give up all hope of our club in the direction it was heading in. Had a heavy heart when it was looking more n more likely we weren't seeking a progressive manager/coach to give us hope to break away from the the norm and have a creative outlook for a change. Delighted the folk that run our club might well surprise me and show they WANT to change. This is sort we should be seeking to bring in, and also pleasantly surprised that it seems so many on here are in agreement

This is true.... this guy has done far more than Clarke or McKay have done. Since when does McKay doing ok in the English Championship or Clarke getting sacked from WBA out-trump Delia's achievements in Norway?

"McKay done well at Watford in the championship before Cardiff"...... yeah who gives two *? Watford didn't get promoted under his management from what I can remember.... then he got a Cardiff side promoted who were the best team the two years before he came and bottled it twice and managed to get them over the line.

Then Clarke came into WBA, did ok-ish and got sacked in the first half of his second season.

IS ALL THAT SERIOUSLY ALL IT TAKES TO MANAGE CELTIC THESE DAYS??? By * how far have we fallen if people think those guys are the absolute best candidates for the job.

Delia is one of the most highly rated managers in Europe, a lot of people would have heard of him. Clarke would be known by a huge minority of football fans in the continent and McKay won't be known by anyone.

Because ofcourse Stevie Clarke is guaranteed not to be another Mowbray:87:

Any manager we appoint could be ! Why not take a risk for once, show some vision instead of being happy with just plodding along and continuing along the same road.

    Is he British? Aye

    Does he support Celtic? Aye

    Get him in!

    * that.

Just because you haven't heard of Stromsgodset either means absolutely nothing.

If we're throwing up the Mowbray example, everytime...Can we through up the Jansen example up too.

Its by taking risks, we stopped them getting 10 in a row.

People not wanting this guy are stupid yes he isn't British but I really don't care I have read nothing but great things about him all day he has learned from Brendan Rodgers and Klopp so its obvious his football philosophy is an exciting one and all our youngsters should be looking forward to this appointment because instead of going out and buying a new player he will just throw a youngster in similar to what Rodgers did with Flanagan and Sterling last season

<WRONG. You are trying to compare chalk with cheese. Clarke and even McKay have more footballing stature having operated in the EPL. Delia is probably an unknown quantity outside Norway

A lot people would respect what McKay did at Watford and Cardiff, obviously you don't because it fits your agenda.

Delia operates in the miniscule bargain basement Norwegian league. Clarke was prematurely sacked from West Brom by a volatile and ultra nervous chairman.McKay suffered a similar fate in the extremely difficult atmosphere and challenge of the EPL

< They might not be the best, but they are probably the best we can attract being in the SPL.

< Utter nonsense. Nobody has heard of Delia. Everybody knows Clarke and McKay in the game.Where do you get your information from ?

Doctor Venglos, I'm guessing you are an avid fan of the EPL. You seem to be forming a bases for your argument by using the EPL.

I'll just say, I don't care what sort of 'stature' our new manager has, as long as he is good at the job. Delia may be an unknowns but is that bad? Why bring in more expensive options that won't really bring anything different to the table?

I'd rather have an unknown, talented, up and coming manager than statured, boring, expensive failures who are being hyped up because they managed in the oh so mighty EPL.

Edit: and can I just say - who the * outside of Britain will have heard of Steve Clareke, lets get real? Even Mackay - Cardiff and Watford are hardly sporting Goliaths and massive brands are they?

You have to look at what Dalia did objectively. He won them the league with a miniscule budget and much smaller than that of Rosenberg and Molde. The guy has them playing decent football aswell.
