Doubt it, mate. My mate's GF was a circus performance trainer for kids in Norway and was on £1,600 a week.

Nah I seriously doubt he is even on £2k a week. Regardless of the financial stability of Norway as a nation, doesn't mean the clubs are in the same position. Then again they might have gave him a huge deal to try and keep him there.

In all honesty they are a very small club, must have been a huge achievment leading them to the title.

Will be nowhere near the compensation involved in the Mowbray deal that's for sure, surely.

Was that something he said he'd do if they won the title or something? See he didn't have the guts to do the "full Rossenspeil". :smiley-laughing002:

Thats such a weird sentence on a football forum. :56:

I know people are paid plenty in Norway but maybe football (surprisingly in this day and age) is one area that works differently?

With 6k a week attendances, even if they charged £600 for a ST they would still only be pulling in £3.6m. Add in the £3.5m they get for winning their league (roughly that), I just can't see them having a massive budget.

Honestly reckon they would have a budget like that of Hibs, maybe less. Could imagine him being on £2k-£3k a week.

I have not seen this hype here since the Finnbogason thread was created.

Even though he is rather unknown for me, I know that Strömgodset has been playing well with the budget they have had. There are several bigger clubs in Norway. I also think Malmö FF was looking for him as a replacement before they appointed another Norwegian. I don't think Deila actually rated the Malmö job, as it is probably only slightly better than Strömgodset. This must be very interesting for him, to become manager of such a great club as Celtic.
The only reasonable outcome from this would be to appoint him :celt_2:

bring it on. He sounds like he can hit the ground running. Let him get a few in the door asap too to solidify the team.

Thats exactly why its so exciting in my opinion, he is an unknown, young, foreign successful manager with a forward thinking philosophy.

Not your bog standard, boring, run of the mill British manager like Coyle.

I think you are right. One of the bigger problems in Norwegian club football is that they can not attract players as the salary is way lower than other European leagues. I would say 10 years ago they could attract Swedish players, but not anymore. I would say that the Swedish and Norwegian league is pretty close in regards of the salary level, especially since Rosenborg lost it dominant position, the Norwegians would still be able to offer more I but not as much as before. Denmark is another case, they have more money in Football, and also has had generous taxes for football players.

I tried to find out how much he earns. What I found was that Ronny Deila would get equivalent to about 3k/week

You still havent given a reason to why you would be against him joining other than your hatred for an individual.? Well why are these millions of years of natrual selective genes so angry at him for?
Yes he is an * thats a given. But who else could we attract that has the same positional and tatical awareness that would match celtics budget?
I personally met the guy when he was doing his badges @sports scotland in Largs he came across as a smart man tatical man who read the game from the side extremley well. Yes he was boring but he was also very imformative and gave messages very simple but effective. Lennon wasnt taticaly aware imo and neither was TM.. we need a man who reads the game well and he does it with a hint of maturity. Last manager who ticked that box was WGS. This delia guy has the ethos to take us forward. But a attacking agressive passing flair play is all great and well and AMAZING to watch, but we need to implement that power, flair and style of plan in a formation and a solid team that knows where to be all the time in the wee pockets or defending in twos and threes covering the full backs ect when were doing that sort of style. Its called merging and yes he is a * but hes a smart * and celtic could do alot worse than him at this time if that is the style and direction the new gaffer brings (which i hope he does) There is no point hiring a man like him if your nuber two is unable to adapt and see the bigger picture.
