We've yet to spend any Wanyama money. The money's there we don't need to sell and we shouldn't be looking to sell players who are only going to improve.

Reckon it'll be around £3M to 5M plus whatever is generated in sales. In truth the squad isn't in need of major surgery if we ignore outgoings but I doubt any manager would be willing to take over without being able to have a bit of cash to stamp his authority. I also think we lack cover in the defensive areas (GK, CB, LB) although I reckon we could do this cheaply by either renewing Steve Moyokolo's contract and/or bringing in free agents.

As far as improving the squad and spending serious money is concerned, IMO an anchorman and winger with a good fitness history should be priorities (and should be available at a reasonable quality for £3M to 5M). I also think we could be doing with a quality striker (different from Stokes and Griffiths style) but perhaps the new manager would feel they could get the best out of Pukki, Balde and Watt. I reckon it was clear Lennon had major doubts about all of them for one reason or another, Balde and Watt in particular; and despite being a hard working performer from a team perspective, I think Pukki was pretty far off justifying his price tag with his goal return and general threat up front.

And you think we will? I think the money will probably set aside for wages. We will try to buy other players for 1m or less and hope to find more diamonds in the rough. Thats just the way Celtic operates now.

Anyone who places a bet on who the next manager of any club will be is an idiot anyway.

You have better chances on a one arm bandit.

Interesting how the Keane story broke this morning in Irish Paper. At the time Villa was not mentioned but the article explained how a prospective EPL Club with once strong Irish ties were prepared to offer Asst Manager that would allow Keane to remain Asst with ROI and he probably would not be joining Celtic. Think we have been gazumped.

Glad Keane is out of the picture. Great footballer but braindead.

The guys who have links to Celtic such as DD and chums have about £8billion combined, you would think they could get a decent man in charge and give him say £10million every yr or two just off the intrest they earn from personal wealth. This isn't even including the money raised from ST, Merch, Champ Lge, TV, Sponsorship etc...

We are not a rich mans plaything and hopefully never will be.

Dermot Desmond doesn't exist to pump funds into the club to chase something unnaturally. That's left to our pals on the other side of the water when they used to exist.

Not sure if it's been said, keane in talks today with villa about becoming assistant manager, the same day as ruling himself out of the running with us..

Think that answers many of wullies points earlier and others who were claiming 3 jobs, family reasons etc came in to play..
    Easy excuses..

Wouldn't be adverse to having Clarke as manager. However like Keane I have my suspicions about him being a serious candidate for the job.

Think he prefers England and will wait for an opportunity. Also in his previous jobs his family have stayed in London for the duration. Would his wife be keen to move to Scotland and would it be feasible for him to travel to London all the time??

He has good experience and has had good reviews from previous players in terms of his training and approach to the game. So I wouldn't have doubts about that side of the job but I just don't see him wanting to be in Scottish Football.

On the other hand, Neil Warnock was spotted at The Eagles concert tonight??? Hopefully just to see them and not for any other reason!!

That's Garcia out of the picture now. He is back with Maccabi Tel Aviv.
