Will be disappointed if/when it happens as i was/am hoping they will be more adventurous and ambitious but will get behind the team nonetheless.

I was disappointed when Lennon got the job, for me Keane will be far better.

Aye, it will barely be noted in Europe probably unless we meet teams in the CL and then they will probably talk a lot about him as a well known ex-player.

I think people always tend to overhype European attention about things, like when we get beat in Europe and people say its embarassing people will be laughing at us. Generally barely anyone bothers their arses about whats going on in other countries.

It'll only be made a big deal of in Scotland, England and Ireland.

My background is from the business world so maybe the analogy is not quite perfect, but the style of management I think Keane will employ is hopelessly outdated. The type of management style used by Shankly or Stein, that of the ruthless all commanding, know it all authoritarian just doesn't work any more. There are always exceptions but I think Ferguson was the last of this type.

In this age of the inflated super ego's of overpaid prima donnas a more subtle and nuanced management philosophy is better. Keane is far away from that style.

If we go with Keane I think we are missing a great opportunity, that it would be a retrograde step. From what I have read I think Garcia is a much better prospect

McGeady's wages are way too high for us to consider, the days of top talent coming from english premiership to scotland are long over

We like any fans take, European defeats bad..

The honest answer is, no one cares how many we concede in the nou camp and who knocks us out..

There is interest and bummed up.by sky but only slightly..

Well NL was the cheap option for the board, he didnt have any managerial experience and was flung in at the deep end imo. He only won 2 out of 9 domestic cups, we struggled in last yrs Champ League qualifiers (although i blame the board for that gamble) and imo he struggled to atract players. Keane will to better at bringing players in as he's known to a wider audience, has more contacts and will have learned from the time at Sunderland and Ipswich. He spent most of his career down south and has worked with a great manager in the past.

    SIGH..

I was told tonight it was a done deal and to expect a press conference Monday.
I had been told the day before also.

He needs to hit the ground running and get the fans on board quickly, no Champions League will be bad, but if he gets us there, watch the support change it's mind. As would happen anyway

There are benefits to having Keane as manager. Just a shame that none are in the football department.

Bit of a curve ball suggestion, but if we are looking for an ex Celt, that will be a cheap option, what about John Collins?

I actually don't mind Keane, he did well with Sunderland imo, and failed at Ipswich, but you learn more when you fail I think. The only parts of Keane I am not sure about and disappointed in with the board is I don't think he'll play a style of football that I find attractive and I don't think he's the kind of manager that will progress the youth players and give them chances in the first team. However, he could prove that wrong. If it is Keane then I will support him I also think he will be successful.

Ray Houghton on Talksport there talking about Steve Clarke being linked with the Celtic job. Saying Celtic is a good place for a manager to start their career!!!!!! Talking like we're some * diddy team. Also agreeing that the the Championship looks a better league cos it's got Hearts Hibs and the zombies. These English based so called celtic fans like Houghton and Brazil get on ma * :47:
