That was me. He was, at first. His ability is without question. He only became a bad signing becasue he was injured so much. Craig Gordon, at his best, was one of the best keepers in world football. He even got voted as having made the best save in the history of the premier league. £9m was a colossal waste of money though. No way would Hearts not have sold him for significantly less than that. Strange.

Managers are not always in control of every single transfer if you think Roy Keane sat and picked all of them himself your very wrong .

The Only bright part is we have a couple of seasons to let him get used to what we do I am Sure MON would have told DD, if he thought Keane was a * and shouldn't be allowed near our club, also I think he learnt some harsh realities at Sunderland and Ipswitch about man management and it's not that side that worries me.

My worry is does he have the tactical ability to stear us through Europe, can he push on from where Lenny left off or are we taking a step back, but it will all be answered by mid August if he gets the job,

I hope this is the club that turns him into the great manager he thinks he is,

Very true DD signed the two Keane's and the manager had to play them...

    Those Keane signings are frightening.

He wont have much say over transfers here though... heh.

That's including who ever we sell for big bucks, i'm far from convinced he could do anything on that budget..

im pretty sure lennon has said that the club has a list of scouted players for each position within our price range and if he needs a lb for example he goes through the list and selects 1 out of it ,i cant see that changing if roy keane arrives

Aye, I rated Gordon (most did) and he was unlucky with injuries but I would have paid £6m. Its nice that he thought so highly of the players up here though.

My mistake, I thought Chopra was bought for £6m - it was Kenywyne Jones, * me man.

Thats what I hate about down south, they have so much money to spend and half of them have no clue how to spend it.

Doubt we will have loose purse strings. I'm starting to think it won't be him but if DD has his way.......

So you think it is just coincidence that he signed Liam Miller, Phil Bardsley, Johnny Evans, Dwight Yorke, Andrew Cole, Ross Wallace, Stanislav Varga and Kieran Richardson who he played with at club level?

Or that Craig Gordon and Russell Anderson were at their peak when Keane happened to be playing in Scotland?

Can't see it, he needed big bucks at Sunderland and look at what he signed, he had next to nothing at Ipswich and look what happened there.

I'm gone stick my neck out, I hope DD brings Roy Keane to Celtic Park as the New Manager. He will be a good appointment for various reasons, commercially the club will make £££$$$ off the back of it, also Roy wont take pish from the media, Celtic will get more exposure from Keane than they got with Lennon in charge and he has two or three years before he has to worry about sevco.

    Does anyone know

who is likely to be Keane's backroom team? This looks like it could be driven by the cash payout option and it's gonna take a level headed backroom staff to keep the ship on the rails when "the volatile one" looses it!
