That is something you would have to ask the Sunderland players. I couldn't tell you for certain why they celebrated his departure. He obviously wasn't liked if they did so though. His managerial record in recent years is not good enough in my opinion. The same reason why I didn't want Coyle here either. Neither of them have done anything of note for quite a while now.

Don't you want the excitement, mate? Look, we can't afford Mourinho, Guardiola, Simeone and guys like that who would do an amazing job. Not even guys like Laudrup. It's a straight up choice we face between guys like Coyle who will do a safe but uninspiring job and guys like Keane, who might be amazing or might be a disaster. With Sevco still a couple of years away from a challenge, let's take this chance to go down the risky, exciting route. Who knows where it will take us?

He shouldn't have done that. It's in the past and we should move on, though. DiCanio is still a fascist, that's the difference.

To be honest, none of the mentioned people have done much of note. I'm not a huge fan of anyone put forward so far, just shows where we are as a club at this time.

What kind of football does Keane play with his teams? I know absolutely nothing about him as a manager. But something tells me it's 4-4-2 with two big and slow central defenders with no playing skills, two reckless defensive midfielders and two wingers who are fast but totally useless in any other aspect of the game and who, per game, each send around 43 crosses in the box where a big, slow and slightly overweight striker is waiting to head them in.

It's ridiculous. You're trying to compare racism and discrimination against ethnic minorities with putting the boot into someone during a game of football! It's hyperbole at best and delusion at worst.

As I said, good luck trying to tell the likes of Bertie Auld and Davie Hay (who have deliberately injured opponents in games) that they're no longer welcome at Parkhead.

This is the most awkward managerial appointment in history, only Coyle has come forward saying he wants the job and it looks like Lawwel and co are desperate for someone else.

I'm not sure about that to be honest. It was in the papers (so it might not be true of course), that Lennon was on more than Laudrup when he was at Swansea. It was when they were showing how ridiculous McCoist's salary was compared to other managers that it was reported.

Stop going on about hay and auld, keane boasted about it years later in his book. Whether or not you believe the comparison with griffiths is fair or not, keane is a nugget who shouldn't be considered to be our manager.

OK, fair enough, but not just salary, though. Budget, autonomy, holding onto our best players, the league he'll be coming to. We can't attract these guys.

    As have Auld and Hay!

As I said, hyperbole or delusion.

Out of Keane, Mackay and Coyle, I would have taken Mackay. He has done a lot more than the other two in recent times. Coyle and Keane haven't achieved anything in the past 4 or so years roughly.

TBH all Keane did was end the career of someone who mocked him while he was seriously hurt.

Now if someone had done that to Diouf you'd all be applauding.
