Not only that he always comes across as an arrogant know it all nutter. This ain't a good quality for a manager.

Recent quote from Scott brown on Neil Lennon's departure:

“His biggest single quality was man-management.

“You could speak about anything. He knew he wasn’t always right and I knew I wasn’t always right in different situations. We came up with a plan.

Somehow I don't think Keane will be the same approachable, measured personality.

I'm not exactly going to be tearing up tickets or anything, but I'll be very disappointed if Keane gets the job. We should be aiming higher than a man who has failed miserably everywhere he has been in his management career.

Think it could be the making of tony watt if he comes here, same with biton and johansen will learn alot under him tbh. I think kris commons will clash with him. Could have the potential to destroy the team moral or it could make them come as 1 and show respect for a guy whos won everything in the game.
My view is i dont want him as manager but will back him none the less if this is even true.

Guys, I'm actually quite excited by the idea. The guy has all the tools to be an amazing manager plus a major attitude problem. This attitude problem has so far stopped him achieving the success he's capable of, but let's look at that: if he had achieced the success he's capable of, he wouldn't come to Celtic. What we have here is a massive gamble and frankly we're in a position to do that.

With Coyle, we know what we'll get. We'll get a safe but thoroughly uninspiring pair of hands. He'll win the league easily, have us playing OK and do nothing in Europe. With Keane, we haven't a clue what will happen. The guy is a winner and very smart, he is entirely capable of taking us to the CL last 16 again, or latter stages of the Europa. He won't go into the CL group stages looking to finish 3rd; nothing less than qualifying will be acceptable to him. He won't go into the Europa looking to do well, he'll want to win the thing (I'm assuming even Roy Keane isn't mad enough to think we can win the CL).
Or he could screw up royally amd we'll have an awful season and massive bust ups but still win the league in the end.

I think it's a gamble worth taking and far more exciting than Coyle. Plus, if anyone can get Watt to reach his potential it's Keane.

He's DiCanio without the fascist baggage.

yea he seems to have managed alot in Romania and Russia and looking at some of the teams he has managed they had some good moments in european competitions.

Good choice, if confirmed, will win no more or less than any other manager we appoint, don't see why anyone wouldn't want him

To be fair, just now I'm in the anyone but Coyle camp (I know its terrible ehh? ).

The rest of names being touted are better than Coyle anyway, its just about who we can get.

Why not go the whole hog and hire Keane with Di Canio as our director of football? :icon_mrgreen:
