Ah i completly forgot that. Now I have to revise my opinon a bit.
I still think America is the most influental country from this century. Economical and Political that is. So I still stick with roosevelt. Also because he is responsible for starting the us Nuclear programme that changed the entire world and started the cold war. He also dragged usa out of the economical crisis and kept it capitalistic. Later on the capitalistic/communism conflicts would emerge from this decision. I see roosevelt as the man that shaped our century the most. Economicly and political because winning WW2 made the USA a economical and military superpower that dominates the world stage to this day on. Would you agree with me if we talk about lasting influence?

The same could be said for Jesus then or Muhammed, I would have to go with the "Big Four" ; Woodrow Wilson, Lloyd George, Vittorio Orlando, and Georges Clemenceau, their decisions at the Paris Peace conferance which resulted in the Treaty of Versailles which in turn influenced almost every major event during the 20th Century, not in the least resulting in WW2 itself.

Neither Jesus nor Muhammed had any role in the Russian or Chinese (etc etc) revolutions. I'd argue that religion probably had less influence in the 20th century than in almost any other.

Yep, if it wasn't for Hitler I wouldn't be here. Grandad fled Nazism, came to scotland and joined the Norwegian Brigade.

For me it would have to be Nelson Mandela. Truly inspired not only a nation with his stoicism but his passion and dignity. Also an inspiration to millions around the world.
