Good post mate, I had noticed when Ki came on Samaras was allowed to stay further up the park becuase we had a CM (Ki) who was actually willing to burst forward. Crosas and ZZ are just looking to lie deep and play the ball forward, meaning Samaras has to come much deeper to collect the ball.

I must say I like Samaras better when he's on the left, he's so much more effective when coming in from the wide areas of the pitch. He can pick out some wonderfull assists too. In my opinion Samaras would be much better suited to this kind of strike force:

    Fortune..Ramussen..Samaras

I feel Samaras would be much more effective in this role (inside forward sort of thing) as well as the poacher would get better service.

where did you read that:56:.....look,i dont like giving any celtic player pelters, but hes our no9 and in front of goal hes as much good as a * ona nun! i dont dislike the fella ,i even think he looks quite cool, but he misses too many chances and that aint good enough for a celtic no9,and my opinion has been based on him since he came here.a few good performances just paper over the cracks. he wont last under mogga.imho.* go just like heid and mick because those 2 were just as bad at the opposite end of the park..reds and own goals.

On his day he is VERY good , i know this is not often enough but if he played the way he can week in week out the likleyhood is he would not be at Celtic. I think he should saty , maybe not as a member of the starting 11 but without doubt as an impact player!

How many times does it have to be said, Samaras has had less starts, and got the same amount of goals as McDonald. That (bold) is the worst argument there is and it keeps cropping up in this thread time and time again.

*edit* By the way according to the guardian Samaras is our top "first" scorer which is of course the most important goal wouldn't you say?

Nothing to do with him being immobile or mobile, he lack composure and positional sense. Terrible at making the wrong decisions on the park, always turns towards more opposing players, never looks for teamates on the park, could never form a striking partnership unless it was with a full size mirror.

    He's a poser, let's lose this dud.

I think he's the Caldwell version of a striker if you know what i mean.

Shows moments of brilliance , but is always liable to * up big time and cost us games single handily.

He's still better than McDonald though

    He's not useless, he's inconsistent.

We shouldn't sell any of our strikers as we need 4 at the club. If Fortuné got injured or suspended can you see Skippy managing to fill the link up role? I certainly couldn't and I haven't seen enough of Rasmussen to say whether he could fill that role.
