There is no doubt that Samaras can play football and he has scored some good goals but its the easier chances that let him down badly ,he is not a good striker from 6-12 yards out and that were Celtic are faltering from in most games .

This is all based off the missed chance from Tuesday, but to be honest, I've watched the play twenty times and the unfortunate circumstance is the cross was just slightly too high. Maybe he should have tried to tap it in rather than bullet it, but that game, by no means, came down to that miss.

Sammy's been good for us. He's not Larsson, but he scores in 50% of our games. Get Skippy back or maybe Rasmussen and he'll come good again.

You are right ,its not down to that one miss in the game ,but he and Fortunee have missed lets say some chances you would expect a striker to score from close in ,Celtic would be a different team if the had a out and out poacher in there the chances are being created but no takers but i do rate Sammi as a player and he does take a battering at times from the support which often is harsh on him.:50:

Totally agree. I think if we went 4-3-3 or 3-4-3 that Sammy would thrive as an LF or something like that. He plays so well with the Greek national side as almost a CAM, just behind the penalty box striker. I think his creativity and passing as well as his pace make him ideal to be in space rather than as a poacher. I think his height makes people think he's something he isn't.

People continually look for holes in part of the team where there is no problem. I think we've got 3 very good strikers right now and hope Rasmussen is up to that standard.

Nothings changed - our CM's aren't coping now N'Guemo/Crosas has been split up, and our centre-backs are either young and inexperienced (Thompson) or simply not good enough (Loovens, O'Dea).

    that wouldn't be hard!!! hahaha

I say keep him but he should be played as an attacking midfielder. He has excellent pace and determination. has enough skill but lacks compusure in front of goal, that is something that can be worked on.

I also think he is one of the players that actually seems to give to a * during games. he never really gives up chasing etc. The amount of stick he takes from some so called fans is a total farce

I like Sammy, yes he misses some chances you would expect to see put away and can be frustrating at times but his movement and effort is an advantage to the team, I really don't see how the OP can say he's immobile, I'd keep him.

no he shouldn't go and i don't agree that he is immobile. he is inconsistent.
the thing that bugs me about him is that when something doesn't go right for him he wastes time by putting his head in his hands instead of just getting on with it.

Samaras is the single most frustrating player at the club. He sometimes looks like an Ibrahimovic type, but his class shines only in flashes - blink and you'll miss it. The problem with Samaras isn't that he's too immobile, too slow, lacks composure, but it's a mental thing with the big guy. His concentration is shocking. Really, really bad. His mind seems to wander during games and thinks too much about what he's going to do. He's quite laggard and that shouldn't be the case for a striker. He needs to play more with his instinct. I'd question his mental toughness as well. He can be a star, but he's what, 24/25 now? How long can you wait for consistency in our situation?

He's been our most consistent striker this season. To get rid of him for his consistency you'd be better getting rid of McDonald or Fortune for theirs.

In terms of goal scoring he is on a par with Skippy but id trust Skippy to put the ball in the back of the net more than I would Sammy.
