Just now none of them look like captain material, a few have potential to do the job but until they prove they can lead on the pitch then I really don't care who is given the armband, hopefully a leader will show themselves on the pitch whether they have the armband or not.

 

Based on how many games have you came to this conclusion ,i said he looks the most vocal player in that team so thats commanding in itself .

Cult status ,sorry wrong guy ,i dont do cult hero * for footballers ,you can either play or you cant ,thats my view .

 

The problem is, someone has to be captain! I agree with the gerneral opinion that we are short, very short of leaders but where does it say that there needs to be a permanent captain? Or does it? Couldn't we try two or three players over the coming weeks until a leader emerges or until we buy someone?

Personaly I would rather give the captaincy to Hoopy" rather than "Coco Pops" Broon!

 

joos hooiveld he can certianly talk the talk and he speaks the truth, i think he would be a much better captain than broony

Well not Brown anyway! He shouldn't be in the starting 11 never mind be captain!

 

Scott Brown. You cant just sign someone and make them captain. how will the rest of the team feel when someone who hasnt played and doesnt have their full respect becomes captain.Not hooiveld for me doesnt seem approachable his moaning about the performance seems like the way he tries to cover his * individual performance he could come good but not just now.

 

Give it a year then Efrain Juarez.

 

I Totally agree that hooiveld can talk it but why does he deserve to be captain ? that is ludacris ! does anyone else bar me not think that if lenny gets keane back via mcgeady sale that he should be made captain ! hence the reason we should get keane over (goals) bellamy

 

changing the captain is a decision only the manager could make, none of you know how the players get on with eachother... to take the armband away from brown and give it to a player who has hardly kicked a ball for celtic could quite easily disrupt team chemistry.... not saying i think brown is a good captain either btw... just dont think picking a captain is that easy, theres a lot a captain does off the pitch and in training we dont see... the only guy who knows who the best man for the job is, is lennon

 

Totally agree, keane is a true leader, does the job very well in the irish squad, ide pick him over bellamy any day of the week but looking at the poll on the other thread other people chose not to pick him but thats for
another thread, if we were lucky enough to get keane again he should be made capain right away.

 

2 options I would've had were Boruc and then Hinkel.

Boruc would have been my choice also, but obviously that can't happen now. But in the current squad there is nobody there i would give it to as there are alot of new players. While Brown is out injured then Maloney will probably get it, and when Maloney gets injured(as it's a certainty) then * knows who it will be.
