Marshall was a brilliant young goalie who lost his confidence. Doesnt deserve to be in a list of dodgy goalies like that.

I went for Marshall but that may be more to do with the good memories I have of him as opposed to my actual feelings about him at the time.

Still probably the best pick of a bad bunch.

I think Marshall is getting some poor criticism in this thread. He was only 21/22 when he left because Artur was, well, Artur * Boruc!!!. He was a good keeper and could have went on to better things than Cardiff had he stayed maybe another year. He was a good goalie, and should have been ahead of Douglas, who was only there as an experienced head.
I mean Marshall played a blinder at ibrox and the Nou Camp at 18 years old. He should have made it better than where he is now.

Marshall was a good a keeper with a lot of potential who suffered greatly by letting in 5 goals against Artmedia Bratislave followed by 4 goals at Motherwell.

Fraser Forster is only 22 mind. Turns 23 on St Paddy's day :50:

Although apparently Forster's the 3rd best keeper we've had since Packie left.

    Not bad eh?

True. None of that was his fault really. Just really bad games for the whole team.
I have hope for Forster, more than I did a few weeks ago anyway. Last season I was probably his biggest fan (apart from his kicking, which he's improved on greatly). Hopefully when we get a settled backline Forster will grow in confidence. Good shot stopper, at times I think unfairly criticised at coming out for balls, started to show a bit more dominance recently again. Slowly but surely improving.
I just think Marshall is getting a bit rough treatment because of what/where he is now. Judging by Celtic only, he could have been a top keeper for us if ti weren't for the Hoaly Goalie.

How can you hold that against him? the best keeper since sliced bread (BIG FOOT) let 4 against the huns and 3 against Killie in the first half

Marshall went onto being a Scottish international

Not while he was with Celtic and I don't hold it against him, I still think we shouldn't have sold him and loaned him out for a couple of years. He has a lot of weakenesses though still.

I'm just comparing, I think Forster suffers from playing behind a terrible defence and being the only keeper in our history to play after a keeper like Artur Boruc. Anything after Boruc was a downgrade, Forster included but I think people still expect Boruc like performances.
