Who is better Caldwell or Mcmanus(based on this season)

GC has played better, THIS SEASON!! Apart from that he was poor. Has cost a lot more goals than Mick over the 3 seasons they played together. I still think though that they will become a great central pairing. These things take years to develop, but if it does then we are set for the next 4 or 5 seasons, easy.

Both really good players, but GC has been better this season.

 

i wonder if kennedy will be kept a celtic this january

caldwell is twice the player mcmanus is

Caldwell for me always had the right skills but was mistake prone. He had cut that out and has also become much better in the air this year and a serious expert at the last ditch block. Add to that his excellence on the ball and passing (for a CH) and you have a player you will not better within our budger.

Mick has good games but he has now been ever-present for 3.5 seasons and still has big issues regarding his positioning and lack of pace. If he played at his best all the time I dont think he would be criticised too much but he doesnt and I think we can do better.

I also think Loovens had all the basic attributes of a very decent CB and just needs a run at LCB. He is amazing in the air, strong, a good tackler and has really decent pace for a big guy. If he got a good run in Micks place I think Mick would never get back in. However, he needs a good run to work on positioning and partnerships.

i voted caldwell but i feel they are about on average overall with each other i cant belive mcmanus get slagged for his passing tbh i dont care the way my centre back passes cos thats not his job his job is to defend and he does it with 100% commitment

i would giv it to caldwell for this season... but i dnt think any of them are celtic standrd

plus in my opinion i think that strachan is tryin to make celtic a scotland B team...... 3 of our 4 defenders that start are scottish and then there is brown, hartley, robson and maloney in the midfield

and scotland are not the team u want to base your club around

 

Some of the players are half decent so i dont know what your problem is with scottish players. Maybe we have too many yeah but obviously they are still capable, (getting to the last 16 of the chmpions league 2 years on the trot and getting a result at ibrox at the weekend that we havnt done in years).
