Who else gets annoyed by back passes? I'm talking about a sequence when a player receives the ball and then passes it right back to the sender. It annoys me to no end lads. It shows how insecure they are in beating their defender with the ball so they gotta pass it back because they're a weak minded bunch.

Same... Boring, always want them to take on the defender!

It is a necessary part of the game. I'd sooner see Kayal, say, pass the ball back to Mulgrew, than lose possession.
It's all about patience and timing. -

Its a big part of the game. It all about keeping posession, being patient and bringing the other team out from sitting behind the ball to find the space. there is no point in rushing it and losing posession then your out of position and the other team can hit you on the counter.

No, I don't mind them 99% of the time.
That's part of why a lot of British football is so *. Teams are encouraged to lump it up the park because as soon as they start passing it around the crowd gets * off.
Sometimes it is necessary to recycle play and start again. -

What a strange, strange thread.

We had a period of play yesterday where we strung 30+ passes together, we weren't exactly going anywhere with it (hard to when there is 11 men behind the ball) so we played it in front of them, trying to coax them out and looking for a opening.
I would rather watch this than hoofing it up the park only for the defender to head it out, a midfielder to head it back in the mix and for a scramble in the box resulting in a scrappy goal.
Possession is key :50: -
barcelona do it all the time

It's about retaining possession and building momentum and from the back. Constantly going forward won't work.
