I'd still rather we look elsewhere. He's a good coach but he's not going to repeat 16/17 mate.

We've proved with Ange and the fact we were after Eddie Howe that we are capable of profiling the right guys.

Rodgers can get in the bin.

How do you know that he won’t repeat 16/17 arguably better squad now at his disposal. He’s the most elite coach I seen on that list of next managers. And I want to win with the best most elite manager if that’s Rodgers so be it.

No one else on that list is elite level and he could convince the higher level players to stay.

Calmac knows him was playing his best under Rodgers also so it’s not like he won’t have someone who knows him there.

The past is the past get the best candidate and from the names mentioned he’s the best there

I was with you until you said you'd struggle to watch Celtic again if they appointed a manager you don't want...

    Who would you watch instead?

I do not want Rodgers back but I was born in '85 and can remember all the real problems we had. If a fictional "what if" is enough to make you not want to watch us....

I do not know what to say.

Except from go * yourself, obviously :84:

Ppl are seriously * mental today :57:

    Brendan * Rodgers :56:

    Give yersels a shake ffs.

Firstly, he burnt his bridges with both the fans, and the board. Had transfer control taken away from him as he can't be trusted to sign his own * name, never mind a football player.

The fans WILL NOT go from a manager they all collectively adore to a manager they all collectively despise, who dumped us midway through a season and left the 10iar dream in tatters.
Accurate or not, that's the prism of the optics. Even the players will be aware of the manner of him leaving... Calmac I reca didn't even get a * text at the time.

Some of the names being tossed about here are equally ludicrous.

Lennon has literally ZERO chance of a return. NONE.

Lennedy was given a chance and absolutely shat it, with no pressure games and a squad that apparently "loved him".

    Hutter is away to Palace.

Marsch is a * moon unit.

Moyes is now an EPL jobsworth who will be unwilling to shift, knowing his next EPL job offer at a relegation fighting side will be in the post before Xmas.

Broony is nowhere near ready, and I can't imagine Lennedy will like taking direction from his former "charge".

Villa Boas won't touch us, thinks he's Pep... Plus he's a * nugget of a man.

Clarke is in retirement mode and happy to work 2 days a week for Scotland.

The only TWO viable candidates are Potter and Knutsen, with Knutsen being the CLEAR, cheaper, and easier option.
Potter will see us a huge step down.

Based on the fact that Ange Postecoglou is a mentor, they are mates and he was Anges assistance. So hes familiar with and plays the same type of football Ange plays and would be a more seamless transition. He actually won the league wiith Yokahama, something Ange didnt do in his last year in charge of them. And if he continues the trajectory he is on with Yokahama at the moment he will have a better record in Japan than Ange.

Dont get me wrong I am not saying hes a better manager than Ange but he is a better manager than Lennon and a more proven track record than Scott Brown.

As for his past playing career, he was a professional footballer and played for clubs willing to pay him the most money. As long as hes not been singing about being up to his knees in catholic blood or attending orange marches I can forgive him for that.

Is he my first or even second or third choice? No but I would much rather him than Rogers who is an utter snake. Appointing Rogers would be a far bigger transgression by the board.

For me its Knuttson or Potter first and second choice

The amount of people seriously suggesting Rodgers is making me * sick.

He should be nowhere near us. I repeat: HE SHOULD BE NOWHERE * NEAR US.

It would feel as bad as giving Lennon the job in the showers, maybe worse. But the more I see his name appear on here the more worried I get it.

    * Rodgers, his football was overrated; he was a slimy wee narcissist who signed more * players than anyone in my lifetime and got bent over in Europe. He may have schooled a pathetic hun tribute act but he WALKED OUT on us halfway through a season. He allowed the gap to get closer as well.

He'd be a * terrible appointment and a major step backwards. I can't bear to watch us get embarrassed in Europe again with him at the helm. He's genuinely abysmal in European competitions and has been with EVERY club. Fans seriously need to give their head a wobble, not even kidding now.

My mrs reminded me today how much I used to whinge about Celtic being boring with Rodgers in charge. But the thing is, he did get results and I don't see any reason why he wouldn't again. It's far from a horrible appointment.

There are some talented, hungry and ambitious young managers who favour attacking football in the English Championship, we should absolutley be looking at people like Carrick and Corberan.

    Rodger’s elite level? lol

What the actual * has this rat basturd ever done in the game that was so *“elite”???

Flopped at Liverpool when the pressure was on… got leicester city relegated when they were comfortable mid-table the year before… and presided over some of the most humiliating drubbings our football club has ever witnessed in European football… yeah real * elite level stuff.

Oh yeah and walked the league when we had no competition…

Seriously, it’s depressing how little some people know about the game.

And even more worrying how little integrity some people have, if they’re prepared to welcome someone like Rodger’s back into our football club!

I'd 100% take Carrick however his playing style is quite different to Angeball. He plays with really attack minded and athletic fullbacks so I'd worry about all our fullbacks really

His methods would work great if the players are commited to the cause, like they are in Bodø. Remember Deila tried to make our squad eat and train like paid athletes, but where taken the * out of by Commons, Griffiths et al. I fear a similar scenario play out if Knutsen get the gig. Also, Norwegian managers usually don't fare well overseas. I don't know why, but I suspect there is a lack of cultural understanding that make our managers fail every time they try their luck outside Scandinavia.

Exactly, I'm shocked anyone wants him back. We played some great stuff in his 1st season but 17/18 was a slog even though we won the Treble - dropped points 14 times and scored less goals than a terrible Sevco side who finished 3rd.

8 home games out of 19 we scored once or not at all, we really want to go back to that after scoring 100+? The following season we could barely score until October then he slinked off for poxy Leicester in the February. We can't go back to him.

You’ve reeled off a whole bunch of names there who alol give me PTSD and the Rat is easily the most qualified and most elite level than all those.

He knows calmac etc. knows how to win at Celtic I want to win and he’s the best on that list we have there by a bit aswell

Echoing the Knutsen/Papszun ideas and especially the Glasner shout. We need someone with a decent European record.

If the board have gone cranky and refuse to spend much, then go for a Japanese or Korean manager. Glasner has also worked with Japanese players, though.

Do not want Rodgers or Muscat. Kennedy and Brown are not ready.
